stan-against-evilPremiering on Wednesday, November 2, is the new IFC original series Stan Against Evil created by Dana Gould and starring John C. McGinley, Janet Varney, Nate Mooney, Deborah Baker Jr. and Mick Ignis. The show’s original music is composed by Eban Schletter (SpongeBob Square Pants, Another Period). The horror comedy follows a former sheriff of a small New England town who teams up with his younger replacement to investigate a series of supernatural occurrences. the-crownPremiering on Friday, November 4, is the Netflix original series The Crown created by Peter Morgan and starring Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby and John Lithgow. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight) has composed the show’s main theme and Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Hotel Rwanda) has composed the original score. Timbaland’s ‘Skylanders Academy’ Theme Song ‘Harmony’ Released

skylanders-academyActivision/Blizzard Music have released the theme song for the new Netflix animated series Skylanders Academy. The track, entitled Harmony, is performed by Timbaland feat. Dalton Diehl. The song is now available to download on Amazon. Listen to the track after the jump. Skylanders Academy developed by Eric Rogers based on the Skylanders video game franchise and features the voices of Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, Johnathan Banks, Norm Macdonald, Richard Horvitz, Ellis Greg, Bobcat Goldthwait, Catherine O’Hara, Harland Williams and Susan Sarandon. ‘Penny Dreadful’ Seasons 2 & 3 Soundtrack Details

penny-dreadfulThe full details of the second soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Penny Dreadful have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second and third season composed by Golden Globe nominee Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, Nocturnal Animals, W.E., Escape from Tomorrow) who received three Emmy Award nominations for his work on the drama. The soundtrack will be released physically on December 16, 2016 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the first season. The album features the songs from the musical written by Marc Shaiman (A Few Good Men, Misery, Sister Act, City Slickers) and Scott Wittman (Smash, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) performed by the show’s cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 2, 2016 and physically on December 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Hairspray LIVE! is based on the Tony and Grammy Award-winning Broadway musical and stars Maddie Baillio, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Garrett Clayton, Harvey Fierstein, Ariana Grande, Derek Hough, Jennifer Hudson, Martin Short, Ephraim Sykes and Shahadi Wright Joseph, with special appearances by Billy Eichner, Sean Hayes, Andrea Martin and Rosie O’Donnell. infernoThe only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the thriller Inferno directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Ben Foster and Sidse Babett Knudsen. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception, Rain Man, Black Hawk Down). gimme-dangerOpening in limited release is the documentary Gimme Danger directed by Jim Jarmusch about the rock-n-roll band The Stooges. The movie doesn’t feature any original score and no soundtrack album has been released. The film recounts the hard-rocking history of Iggy Pop and The Stooges, who burst out of Michigan in the late ’60s with a savage and endlessly influential fusion of rock, blues, R&B, and free jazz. The documentary premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released by Magnolia Pictures and Amazon Studios. Visit the official movie website for more information. The film is written and directed by Roger Goldby (The Waiting Room) and stars Joan Collins, Pauline Collins and Franco Nero. Academy Award-winning songwriter Tim Rice (The Lion King, Aladdin, Evita) will be providing an original song and also serves as an executive producer on the project. The movie follows a former Hollywood star who is on her way to crash her ex-husband’s funeral with a friend and becomes involved in a romantic triangle with a reclusive Italian painter. The album features selections of the original score fm the show’s first two seasons composed by Jeremy Zuckerman (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Columbia and Island Records have previously released two soundtracks featuring songs from the series.
