Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Missing, Lie to Me, The Equalizer) has been tapped to score the upcoming MGM+ original anthology series American Hostage. The show is created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield) & Eileen Myers based on the first season of the podcast of the same name and stars Jon Hamm, Giovanni Ribisi, Kristoffer Polaha, William Jackson Harper, Mireille Enos, Jonathan Tucker and Kat Cunning. The 8-part psychological thriller takes place in the 1970s and tells the true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program.

The full details of the first soundtrack album for the NBC drama Timeless have been announced. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first two seasons composed by Emmy Award nominee Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, S.W.A.T., The Unit, Terriers). Also included is Abigail Spencer’s performance of You Made Me Love You (I Didn’t Want To Do It) from the episode Hollywoodland. CBS’ ‘S.W.A.T.’ to Feature Music by Robert Duncan
Robert Duncan is reuniting with writer/producer Shawn Ryan on the upcoming CBS drama S.W.A.T. The show is developed by Aaron Thomas inspired by the 2003 feature of the same title (scored by Elliot Goldenthal) and stars Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Peter Onorati. The series follows a locally born and bred S.W.A.T. sergeant who is torn between loyalty to the streets and duty to his fellow officers when he’s tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles.
Robert Duncan to Score NBC’s ‘Timeless’
Robert Duncan is set to score the upcoming NBC drama Timeless. The show is created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Revolution) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Visnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit. The series follows a scientist, a soldier and a history professor who are traveling through time to battle unknown criminals in order to protect history as we know it. Ryan and Kripke are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with John Davis (I, Robot, Chronicle, Waterworld) & John Fox (The Blacklist) and Marney Hochman (The Get Down).
‘Last Resort’ Soundtrack Announced
A soundtrack album for ABC’s critically acclaimed series Last Resort will be released next week. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Unit). The soundtrack is set to be released digitally on iTunes next Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Check out our previous article for a behind-the-scenes video of Duncan creating the score for the ABC drama. Last Resort is created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield) and Karl Gajdusek (Dead Like Me) and stars Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Robert Patrick, Autumn Reeser, Max Adler, Daisy Betts and Dichen Lachman. The show follows the crew of the U.S. ballistic submarine Colorado that is attacked by another U.S. submarine. Left for dead on a remote island, they must clear their names and solve the mystery behind the attack. The drama aired on ABC last fall and the complete series will be released on DVD on July 2.
Robert Duncan to Score ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ TV Show
Robert Duncan is composing the score for the pilot of the new CBS show Beverly Hills Cop. The project is a continuation of the film franchise and stars Brandon T. Jackson as the police officer son of Axel Foley, played by Eddie Murphy, who takes down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills while working to escape his famous father’s shadow. Murphy is expected to recur if the project goes to series. Christine Lahti, David Denman, Kevin Pollak and Sheila Vand are co-starring. Shawn Ryan (The Shield) has written the pilot and is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Murphy and Marney Hochman. Duncan has previously collaborated with Ryan on such shows as The Unit, Terriers, The Chicago Code and most recently, Last Resort.
Robert Duncan’s Submarine Scoring Session for ABC’s ‘Last Resort’

Robert Duncan is scoring Shawn Ryan’s new ABC drama Last Resort, which follows the crew of a U.S. nuclear submarine who become hunted fugitives after ignoring an order to fire nuclear missiles. The composer recently went down in an actual submarine at San Diego’s Maritime Museum to collect some different sounds sources for the score. Duncan (Castle, The Unit, Terriers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has also just launched his new official website, where audio clips from the show’s score will be added soon. Last Resort stars Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Robert Patrick, Autumn Reeser, Max Adler, Daisy Betts and Dichen Lachman and Michael Campbell (Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro) has directed the pilot episode.

Robert Duncan is scoring the pilot for the ABC drama Last Resort. The show created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield) is set in the near future and revolves around the crew of a U.S. nuclear submarine who become hunted fugitives after ignoring an order to fire nuclear missiles. They escape to a NATO listening outpost where they publicly declare themselves to be the world’s smallest nuclear nation with nuclear warheads. The series stars Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Robert Patrick, Autumn Reeser, Max Adler, Daisy Betts and Dichen Lachman. Karl Gajdusek (Dead Like Me) has co-written the pilot episode and will be executive producing the show with Ryan. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro) is directing the pilot and also serves as an executive producer. Duncan continues his working relationship with Shawn Ryan on the project. They have previously worked together on the hit show The Unit and most recently, the critic favorites Terriers and The Chicago Code.
