In addition to the nationwide expansion of Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, three other new movies are opening across the country this week:
Opening in around 3300 theaters is the family movie Paddington written and directed by Paul King and starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. The film’s original music is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as songs from the film by James Brown, Steppenwolf and Lionel Richie. Opening in roughly 3000 theaters is the comedy The Wedding Ringer directed by Jeremy Garelick and starring Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Ken Howard, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Mimi Rogers and Olivia Thirlby. Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Agent Carter, Identity Thief) has composed the film’s original score. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by such artists as The Black Eyed Peas, Boyz II Men, Otis Redding, Todd Rundgren, Hal Jeffrin and Rancid earlier this week. Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the space drama Gravity directed by Alfonso Cuaron and starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. The film’s original score is composed by Steven Price (The World’s End, Attack the Block). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. Also opening wide this week is the thriller Runner Runner directed by Brad Furman and starring Justin Timberlake, Gemma Arterton, Ben Affleck, Anthony Mackie, Michael Esper, Oliver Cooper and Ben Schwartz. Christophe Beck (The Hangover trilogy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. A CD version will be released later this month. Check out 
Premiering on Tuesday, September 24, on ABC is Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive produced by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen and starring Clark Gregg, Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennett. Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica) is scoring the show weekly with a full orchestra. Nick Urata has composed the score for the biographical drama The Last of Robin Hood. The film is written and directed by Richard Glatzer & Wash Westmoreland and stars Kevin Kline, Dakota Fanning and Susan Sarandon. The movie chronicles swashbuckling Hollywood star and notorious ladies man Errol Flynn’s final years and high-flying, May-December romance with underage starlet Beverly Aadland. Bryan Batt, Max Casella, Jason Davis, Matt Kane, Patrick St. Esprit, Ric Reitz and Justina Machado are co-starring. Christine Vachon & Pamela Koffler (Boys Don’t Cry, One Hour Photo), Declan Baldwin and Maggie Malina are producing the A+E Films and Killer Films production. 
Nick Urata has composed the score for the pilot of the upcoming ABC comedy Back in the Game. The show is created by Mark and Robb Cullen (Cop Out, Las Vegas) and stars Maggie Lawson, James Caan, Lenora Crichlow, Griffin Gluck, Ben Koldyke, Kennedy Waite, J.J. Totah and Cooper Roth. The series follows a single mother who temporarily moves in with her estranged father and reluctantly starts coaching her son’s underdog little league team and is drawn back into the world of sports she vowed to leave behind. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra have directed the pilot episode and are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Mark & Robb Cullen and Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova). Urata has previously worked with the directors on the features I Love You Phillip Morris and Crazy, Stupid, Love.
