Nick Urata is reteaming with director Stephen Gyllenhaal on the upcoming drama So B. It. The film starring Alfre Woodard, Talitha Bateman, John Heard, Cloris Leachman, Jacinda Barrett, Dash Mihok and Jessica Collins is based on the young adult novel of the same title by Sarah Weeks and follows a 12-year-old girl who decides to take a solo cross-country trip and leave the safety of her home life with her mentally challenged mother and agoraphobic neighbor. Orien Richman is producing the Outside The Box and Branded Pictures Entertainment production with J. Todd Harris (The Kids Are All Right, Bottle Shock).

Weekly Film Music Roundup (November 13, 2015)
Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the holiday comedy Love the Coopers directed by Jessie Nelson and starring Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei and Olivia Wilde. The film’s original score is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Paddington). Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Otis Redding, Sixpence None the Richer, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, as well as track from the score. Also opening wide is the drama The 33 directed by Patricia Riggen and starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Gunton and Gabriel Byrne. James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man) has composed the film’s original music. The movie is also dedicated to the late composer. Nick Urata Scoring Amazon’s ‘Highston’
Nick Urata has composed the music for the Amazon Studios pilot Highston. The show is created by Bob Nelson (Nebraska) and stars Lewis Pullman, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Chris Parnell, Curtis Armstrong, as well as guest stars Shaquille O’Neal and Flea. The comedy follows a 19-year-old with a wide circle of celebrity friends – whom only he can see. Nelson is also executive producing the project with Sacha Baron Cohen & Todd Schulman (Bruno, The Dictator) and Todd Hoffman (Love Stinks, Labor Pains). Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris have directed the pilot episode.
‘Love the Coopers’ Soundtrack Announced
Republic Records will release a soundtrack album for the holiday comedy Love the Coopers. The album features the songs from the film, including Robert Plant’s and Alison Krauss’ The Light of Christmas Day, Otis Redding’s Merry Christmas Baby, Sixpence None the Richer’s Carol of the Bells, as well as seasonal classics from Bob Dylan, Nina Simone & more. Also included is a track from the movie’s original score composed by Nick Urata (Paddington, Crazy, Stupid, Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 13, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Nick Urata Scoring ‘Love the Coopers’
Nick Urata is scoring the upcoming holiday comedy Love the Coopers. The film is directed by Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam, Jessie Nelson) and stars Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei and Olivia Wilde. The movie, which was originally entitled Let It Snow, follows the exasperated members of an extended family as they attempt to gather for their annual holiday celebration. Steven Rogers (Stepmom, Hope Floats) has written the screenplay.
Nick Urata to Score ‘Fun House’ aka ‘The Taliban Shuffle’
Nick Urata revealed in a recent interview with Flickreel that he will be reuniting with directors Glenn Ficarra & John Requa on the upcoming comedy Fun House (also known as The Taliban Shuffle). The film stars Tina Fey, Margot Robbie, Martin Freeman, Alfred Molina, Nicholas Braun, Christopher Abbott, Sheila Vand, Stephen Peacocke, Evan Jonigkeit and Billy Bob Thornton. The movie is based on Kim Barker’s memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan and recounts her years as a journalist in Afghanistan and Pakistan after arriving in the region in 2002. Robert Carlock (30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) has written the screenplay. Fey is also producing the project with Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live, Wayne’s World, Three Amigos) and Ian Bryce (Transformers, Saving Private Ryan, Spider-Man).

Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is Disney’s live-action adaptation of Cinderella directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden, Stellan Skarsgard, Holliday Grainger, Sophie McShera, Derek Jacobi and Helena Bonham-Carter. The film’s original music is composed by Patrick Doyle (Sense and Sensibility, Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well the film’s songs including the original end titles track Strong written by Doyle, Branagh & Tommy Danvers and performed by Sonna Rele. Playing in front of Cinderella is Disney’s new animated short Frozen Fever directed by Jennifer Lee & Chris Buck and featuring the voices of Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad. Christophe Beck (Edge of Tomorrow, The Muppets, The Hangover) who scored 2013’s feature has also composed the score for the short film, while Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez have contributed a new original song. ‘The Cobbler’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy comedy drama The Cobbler. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, Elf, Bruce Almighty) and Nick Urata (Paddington, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus).
