Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy action adventure Scorpion King: Book of Souls. The album features the film’s original music composed by Frederik Wiedmann (Hangman, The Dragon Prince, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Acts of Vengeance, Field of Lost Shoes). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, October 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Scorpion King: Book of Souls is directed by Don Michael Paul and stars Zach McGowan, Pearl Thusi, Nathan Jones, Katy Louise Saunders, Mayling Ng, Howard Charles, Inge Beckmann and Peter Mensah.

Frederik Wiedmann to Score New ‘Doom’ Film Adaptation
Frederik Wiedmann has been tapped to score the upcoming new film adaptation of the video game Doom. The film is written and directed by Tony Giglio (Chaos, In Enemy Hands) and stars Louis Mandylor, Chidi Ajufo, Jemma Moore, Arkie Reece, James Weber Brown, Nina Bergman, Amy Manson, Clayton Adams, Amer Chadha Patel and Luke Allen-Gale. No plot details have been announced yet. The movie is produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, for which Wiedmann has previously scored numerous projects, including Jarhead 2: Field of Fire & Jarhead 3: The Siege, Tremors 5: Bloodlines & Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell and this year’s Death Race: Beyond Anarchy and The Scorpion King: Book of Souls (to be released later this month).

Premiering tonight is the Starz docu-series Warriors of Liberty City executive produced by LeBron James & Maverick Carter about Liberty City – a crime-ridden neighborhood in Miami that is arguably the NFL’s largest, most successful football factory. The show’s original music is composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book, Dear White People, For the People, Monsters and Men). Premiering on Tuesday, September 18, is the Facebook Watch original series Sorry for Your Loss created by Kit Steinkellner and starring Elizabeth Olsen, Kelly Marie Tran, Janet McTeer, Jovan Adepo and Mamoudou Athie. Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat Loud, I’ll See You in My Dreams, The Hero, Queen of Earth) is composing the show’s original music. Frederik Wiedmann Scoring Netflix’s ‘The Dragon Prince’
Frederik Wiedmann is scoring the upcoming Netflix animated series The Dragon Prince. The show is created by Aaron Ehasz (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and follows two human princes who forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands. Ehasz is also executive producing the project with director Justin Richmond (Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception), Gigi Pritzker (Drive, Ender’s Game, Genius) and Giancarlo Volpe who previously served as a producer on the Wiedmann-scored Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

Opening in most theaters is the heist comedy Ocean’s 8 directed by Gary Ross and starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson and Awkwafina. Frederik Wiedmann Scoring York Alec Shackleton’s ‘#211’
Frederik Wiedmann is scoring the upcoming thriller #211. The film is directed by York Alec Shackleton and stars Nicolas Cage as a police officer, following his efforts to stop a bank robbery. 211 is police code for “robbery in progress.” Amanda Cerny, Sophie Skelton, and Michael Rainey Jr. are co-starring. Jonathan Yunger & Jeffrey Greenstein (Security) are producing the project and Yariv Lerner, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short & Scott Karp are executive producing the Millennium Films and Nu Image production.

The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the horror thriller Insidious: The Last Key directed by Adam Robitel, written by Leigh Whannell, produced by Jason Blum and starring Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell, Josh Stewart, Caitlin Gerard, Kirk Acevedo, Javier Botet, Bruce Davison, Spencer Locke and Tessa Ferrer. The film’s original music is composed by Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Annabelle, Dark Skies) who previously scored the first three installments in the series. Opening in limited release is the horror movie Day of the Dead: Bloodline directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens and starring Johnathon Schaech, Sophie Skelton, Marcus Vanco and Jeff Gum. Frederik Wiedmann (Field of Lost Shoes, Dying of the Light, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hangman) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. The movie, which is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled world where a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past, is being released in theaters and on VOD by Saban Films.

‘Hangman’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the crime thriller Hangman. The album features the film’s original music composed by Frederik Wiedmann (Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Field of Lost Shoes, Beware the Batman, Vengeance: A Love Story). The soundtrack is set to be released physically on January 26, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for the digital release date and download link. Hangman is directed by Johnny Martin and stars Al Pacino, Karl Urban and Brittany Snow. The movie follows a decorated homicide detective who partners with a criminal profiler to catch one of the city’s notoriously vicious serial killers, who is playing a twisted version of murder using the child’s game Hangman.
