John Powell and David Buckley have been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Jason Bourne. The film is directed by Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips) who previously helmed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum and stars Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones. The movie takes place seven years after The Bourne Ultimatum and follows the title character as he unexpectedly resurfaces at a time when the world is faced with unprecedented instability. Greengrass and editor Christopher Rouse have written the screenplay based on the characters created by Robert Ludlum. Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Sixth Sense) is producing the project with Jeffrey Weiner, Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman (X-Men: First Class) and Ben Smith.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) and Junkie XL (Deadpool, Mad Max: Fury Road, 300: Rise of an Empire). Four new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane directed by Dan Trachtenberg and starring John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Outlander, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). David Buckley to Score CBS’ ‘BrainDead’
David Buckley has been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama BrainDead. The show is created by Robert & Michelle King and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aaron Tveit, Danny Pino, Nikki M. James and Tony Shalhoub. The series follows a fresh-faced Hill staffer whose first job in D.C. leads her to discover two things: The government has stopped working, and alien spawn have come to Earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of congressmen and Hill staffers. Robert and Michelle King are also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker (The Man in the High Castle, Numb3rs) and Brooke Kennedy (Pushing Daisies, Third Watch).
Soundtrack Album for PBS’ ‘Mercy Street’ to Be Released
A soundtrack album will be released for the PBS mini-series Mercy Street. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Town, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Brothers Grimsby). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, February 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mercy Street is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The 6-parter centers on the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green.

The show’s original music is composed by ESKMO aka Brenden Angelides. Wolfinger & David Zabel (ER) and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The series follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green. Wolfinger and Zabel are also executive producing the project with Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, Alien) and David W. Zucker (The Pillars of the Earth, Numb3rs) of Scott Free Productions.

Premiering on Tuesday, June 16 is the TNT original series Proof produced by Kyra Sedgwick and starring Jennifer Beals, Matthew Modine, Joe Morton, Callum Blue, Edi Gathegi, Annie Thurman, Sean Gleeson and Caroline Rose Kaplan. The show’s original music is composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Town). Proof follows a skeptical, brilliant female surgeon who has been struggling with the loss of her teenage son and is persuaded to investigate reincarnation, out-of-body experiences, hauntings and other supernatural cases. David Buckley to Score ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Prequel ‘Leatherface’
David Buckley has been tapped to score the upcoming horror thriller Leatherface. The film is directed by Alexandre Bustillo & Julien Maury (Inside) and stars Stephen Dorff, Lili Taylor, Sam Strike and Julian Kostov. The movie is a prequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and follows a teenage Leatherface as he escapes from a mental hospital with three other inmates, kidnaps a young nurse and takes her on a road trip from hell. Seth M. Sherwood wrote the screenplay. Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman & Carl Mazzocone (Texas Chainsaw 3D) and Les Weldon (The Expendables series, Conan the Barbarian) are producing the Millennium Films production.
John Ottman & David Buckley to Score Shane Black’s ‘The Nice Guys’
John Ottman and David Buckley are set to score the upcoming detective thriller The Nice Guys. The film is directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3, screenwriter of Lethal Weapon) and stars Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, Matt Bomer, Kim Basinger, Angourie Rice, Beau Knapp, Keith David and Margaret Qualley. The movie is set in 1970s Los Angeles and follows a down-on-his-luck private eye and a hired leg-breaker who must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. Black also co-wrote the script with Anthony Bagarozzi. Joel Silver (The Matrix, Die Hard, V for Vendetta, Sherlock Holmes) is producing the project through his Silver Pictures company.
