Milan Records will release the official soundtracks for the new Apple TV+ original series Schmigadoon! The show’s original songs are written by Cinco Paul who also co-created by the musical comedy. Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Mickey Mouse) has composed the original score. The first two soundtracks featuring the songs and score from Episodes 1 & 2 will be coming out digitally tomorrow, July 16 and music from the other episodes will be released over the coming weeks. Premiering tonight is the HBO limited series The White Lotus created by Mike White and starring Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Jennifer Coolidge, Jake Lacy, Fred Hechinger, Brittany O’Grady, Sydney Sweeney, Natasha Rothwell and Steve Zahn. Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Veep, The Lion Guard) is composing the underscore for the upcoming Apple TV+ original series Schmigadoon! The musical comedy is co-created by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio (Despicable Me, The Secret Life of Pets) and stars Cecily Strong, Keegan-Michael Key, Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, Dove Cameron, Aaron Tveit, Ariana DeBose, Jaime Camil, Fred Armisen, Jane Krakowski and Ann Harada. The show follows a couple on a backpacking trip designed to reinvigorate their relationship when they discover a magical town in which everyone is living in a studio musical from the 1940s.
First Songs from ‘The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse’ Released
Walt Disney Records has released the first two songs from the new Disney+ animated shorts series The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. Available now to stream/download is Donald’s Conga Song written by the show’s composer Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, The Personal History of David Copperfield, Veep, The Lion Guard) & Mike Bell and performed by Tony Anselmo (as Donald Duck), as well as The Wrangler’s Code written by Christopher & Elyse Willis and performed by Chris Diamantopolous, Anselmo & Bill Farmer (as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck & Goofy). Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series The Reagans directed and executive produced by Matt Tyrnauer about the rise and reign of America’s ultimate power couple, Ronald & Nancy Reagan. The show’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home, Bad Boys for Life) who previously scored Tyrnauer’s features Studio 54 and Where’s My Roy Cohn?. Premiering on Wednesday, November 18, is the documentary Crazy, Not Insane directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis, a psychiatrist who has dedicated her career to studying murderers and seeking answers as to why people kill. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
Christopher Willis Scoring Disney+ Series ‘The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse’
Disney+ announced today that Christopher Willis is returning to compose the music for the streamer’s upcoming animated shorts series The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. The show is produced by Disney Television Animation with Paul Rudish (Dexter’s Laboratory, Sym-Bionic Titan) serving as executive producer and supervising director. The series follows Mickey and his best pals – Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto – as they embark on their greatest adventures yet and will include stories inspired by various lands at Disney parks and cameos by classic Disney heritage characters.

‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ Soundtrack Details
MVKA will release the official soundtrack album for the comedy drama The Personal History of David Copperfield. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, The Lion Guard, Mickey Mouse). The soundtrack will be released on January 17, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Personal History of David Copperfield is directed by Armando Iannucci and stars Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Ben Whishaw, Paul Whitehouse and Gwendoline Christie. The movie based on Charles Dickens’ classic autobiographical novel is set in the 1840s and chronicles the life of its title character as he navigates a chaotic world to find his elusive place within it.
Christopher Willis to Score Alexander Kronemer’s ‘Lamya’s Poem’
Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, Mickey Mouse, The Lion Guard) has signed on to score the upcoming animated feature Lamya’s Poem. The film is written and directed by Alexander Kronemer (Bilal: A New Breed of Hero) and features the voice talent of Mena Massoud, Millie Davis and Faran Tahir. The movie tells the story of a thirteen-year-old Syrian refugee who tumbles into a dream world where she meets a troubled young poet, and must help him write the poem that will save her life.
Michael Giacchino Wins Annie Award for ‘Incredibles 2’
Michael Giacchino was honored in the Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production category for the music from Pixar’s hit movie Incredibles 2. Giacchino accepted his award in person at tonight’s 46th Annie Awards at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The other contenders in the category were Danny Elfman & Tyler the Creator for Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, Harry Gregson-Williams & Tom Howe for Early Man, Henry Jackman, Alan Menken, Dan Reynolds, Phil Johnston & Tom MacDougall for Ralph Breaks The Internet and Heitor Pereira, Karey Kirkpatrick & Wayne Kirkpatrick for Smallfoot.
