Premiering tomorrow, September 24, is the new NBC drama Manifest created by Jeff Rake and starring Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J. R. Ramirez, Parveen Kaur and Luna Blaise. The show’s original music is composed by Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy, Halloween: Resurrection, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, My Name Is Earl). Also premiering tomorrow is the CBS drama Magnum P.I. developed by Peter M. Lenkov & Eric Guggenheim based on the classic 80s series and starring Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill and Tim Kang. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fast & Furious, Crazy Rich Asians) & Keith Power (MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0) have scored the first episode and Power is composing the music for the rest of the season. The only movie opening nationwide this week is the horror thriller Winchester directed by Peter & Michael Spierig and starring Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook, Angus Sampson and Finn Scicluna-O’Prey. Peter Spierig (Predestination) has also composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the score is in the works and will be announced soon. The movie tells the story of the woman who began building the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California upon advisement from a medium. The film is being released by CBS Films/Lionsgate. Opening in limited release following an awards-qualifying run last year is the drama A Fantastic Woman directed by Sebastián Lelio and starring Daniela Vega and Hector Lavoe. The film’s original music is composed by Matthew Herbert (Life in a Day, Disobedience). Atli Orvarsson is reteaming with director David M. Rosenthal on the upcoming action thriller How It Ends. The film starring Theo James, Kat Graham, Forest Whitaker and Kerry Bishe revolves around a mysterious apocalyptic event that turns the roads into mayhem, and follows a young father who will stop at nothing to get home to his pregnant wife on the other side of the country. Brooks McLaren wrote the Black List-honored screenplay. Paul Schiff (My Cousin Vinny, Rushmore), Tai Duncan (Into the Grizzly Maze), Kelly McCormick (Atomic Blonde) and Patrick Newall (The Keeping Room) are producing the project. 
Atli Orvarsson is scoring the new NBC mini-series Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders. The show is created by Rene Balce and stars Edie Falco, Gus Halper, Heather Graham, Josh Charles and Miles Gaston Villanueva. The 8-parter centers on the trial of Lyle and Erik Menendez who were convicted in 1996 for the murder of their parents. Dick Wolf is executive producing the Universal Television and Wolf Films production with Peter Jankowski, Arthur W. Forney and Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland) who also directed two episodes. 
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action comedy directed by Patrick Hughes and starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek, Elodie Yung and Joaquim De Almeida. The film’s original score is composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters). The full details of the soundtrack album for the action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle). Also included are songs by Lionel Ritchie, Foreigner, King Harvest, Chuck Berry & more, as well as the original track Nobody Gets Out Alive written and performed by Samuel L. Jackson.
