Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard. The album features the film’s original music composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle, Babylon A.D.). Also included are songs by Lionel Ritchie, Foreigner, King Harvest and a track written and performed by Samuel L. Jackson. ‘Pound for Pound’ Soundtrack Released
PlantSounds has released a soundtrack album for the Danish drama Pound for Pound (Den bedste mand). The album features the film’s original music composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Pound for Pound is directed by Mikkel Serup and stars Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Lene Maria Christensen, Søren Malling, Arnold Oceng, Kristian Fjord and Benjamin Kitter. The movie tells the life story of nine-time European champion and boxing legend Jørgen “Gamle” Hansen.

Atli Orvarsson is scoring the upcoming action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek, Elodie Yung, Joaquim De Almeida, Kirsty Mitchell and Richard E. Grant. The movie follows a top protection agent and his mortal enemy and a most notorious hitman who are thrown together for 24 hours. Tom O’Connor (Fire with Fire) wrote the screenplay.

Premiering tomorrow, February 27, is the ABC mini-series When We Rise created by Dustin Lance Black and starring Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, Michael K. Williams and Ivory Aquino. The show’s themes and music are composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland) and Chris Bacon (Source Code, Bates Motel). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring a suite from the composers’ score, as well as songs by Jordan Fisher, Fancy, Brandi Carlile and Zella Day. Trevor Morris (Vikings, Immortals, The Borgias, Olympus/London Has Fallen) is composing the show’s original music. ‘Bilal’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Bilal: A New Breed of Hero!. The album features the film’s original music composed by Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, Rams, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle) who recorded his orchestral score at Abbey Road Studios in London. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 28, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bilal is directed by Ayman Jamal and Khurram Alavi and features the voices Ian McShane, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Thomas Ian Nicholas and Michael Gross. The movie is inspired by the true story of Bilal Ibn Rabah, a freed slave of Ethiopian origin who fought for equality and justice.
Atli Orvarsson to Score NBC’s ‘Chicago Justice’
Atli Orvarsson has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC drama Chicago Justice. The latest spin-off in the network’s Chicago franchise is created by Dick Wolf (Law & Order) and stars Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Nazneen Contractor, Joelle Carter and Ryan-James Hatanaka. The show follows the State’s Attorney’s dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators who navigate heated city politics and controversy head-on while fearlessly pursuing justice. Wolf is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Peter Jankowski (Law & Order: SVU), Matt Olmstead (Prison Break), Derek Haas & Michael Brandt (3:10 to Yuma, Wanted) and Arthur Forney.
Atli Orvarsson to Score David Rosenthal’s ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ Reboot
Atli Orvarsson has signed on to score the upcoming thriller Jacob’s Ladder. The film is directed by David Rosenthal and stars Michael Ealy, Jesse Williams and Nicole Beharie. The movie is based on Adrian Lynne’s 1990 feature starring Tim Robbins. No plot details have been announced yet. Jeff Buhler and Sarah Thorp (The Bounty Hunter) have written the screenplay. Mickey Liddell (The Grey, Go, Jackie), Pete Shilaimon (Risen) & Jennifer Monroe (Disconnect) are producing the project for LD Entertainment, alongside Alison Rosenzweig (Fright Night, Windtalkers) & Michael Gaeta of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films and Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man) for his production company.
