Premiering tomorrow, September 24, is the new NBC drama Manifest created by Jeff Rake and starring Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J. R. Ramirez, Parveen Kaur and Luna Blaise. The show’s original music is composed by Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy, Halloween: Resurrection, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, My Name Is Earl). Also premiering tomorrow is the CBS drama Magnum P.I. developed by Peter M. Lenkov & Eric Guggenheim based on the classic 80s series and starring Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill and Tim Kang. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fast & Furious, Crazy Rich Asians) & Keith Power (MacGyver, Hawaii Five-0) have scored the first episode and Power is composing the music for the rest of the season. Stephen Warbeck is reteaming with director Richard Eyre on the upcoming new film adaptation of King Lear. The TV movie based on the classic Shakepeare play is written and directed by Eyre (Notes on a Scandal, Iris) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Emily Watson, Florence Pugh, Christopher Eccleston, Jim Broadbent and Andrew Scott. The drama is set in a fictional version of present-day England and tells the story of the eponymous ruler, presiding over a totalitarian military dictatorship in England. Colin Callender (Wolf Hall, Howards End) is executive producing the project for Playground, alongside Sonia Friedman.
