Brian Tyler has scored the Amazon Studios pilot Edge. The show is created by Shane Black (Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Long Kiss Goodnight) & Fred Dekker (Tales from the Crypt, Star Trek: Enterprise) and stars Max Martini, Ryan Kwanten and Yvonne Strahovski. The drama is based on George G. Gilman’s best-selling book series of the same title and is set in 1868 where a Union officer turned cowboy who prowls the post-Civil War West is doling out his own savage brand of justice. Black & Dekker are also executive producing the project with Barry Josephson (Bones, Turn: Washington Spies) and David Greenblatt (Battle Los Angeles).

Marcelo Zarvos Scoring Amazon’s ‘One Mississippi’ and ‘Z’
Marcelo Zarvos has composed the music for the Amazon Studios pilot One Mississippi. The show is created by Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult, The United States of Tara) and comedian Tig Notaro who also stars in the film alongside Noah Harpster, John Rothman and Casey Wilson. The comedy is loosely based on Nataro’s life and follows her as she deals with the complex reentry into her childhood hometown of Bay Saint Lucille, Miss., to deal with the unexpected death of her mother. Notaro is also executive producing the project with Cody, Louis C.K., Blair Breard (Louie) and Dave Becky (Everybody Hates Chris). Nicole Holofcener who previously collaborated with Zarvos on the features Enough Said and Please Give has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer.
‘Hand of God’ Soundtrack Released
Amazon Content Services has released a soundtrack album for the Amazon Studios original series Hand of God. The album features the songs from the show by Holly Marilyn Solem, as well as a track by Fantastic Negrito. Also included are three cuts from the series’ original score composed by Marc Streitenfeld (Robin Hood, Prometheus, Body of Lies, The Grey, American Gangster). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Hand of God is created by Ben Watkins and stars Ron Perlman, Dana Delany, Garret Dillahunt, Andre Royo, Alona Tal, Julian Morris, Elizabeth McLaughlin and Hunter Parrish.

The show’s original music is composed by Marc Streitenfeld (Robin Hood, Prometheus, American Gangster, The Grey, Poltergeist). Hand of God follows a hard-living judge who suffers a mental breakdown and launches a quest to seek revenge against the rapist who tore his family apart. The full first season of the drama will be available to stream on Amazon.
Dan Romer Scoring Amazon’s ‘Sneaky Pete’
Dan Romer has scored the new Amazon Studios pilot Sneaky Pete. The show is created by David Shore (House, Battle Creek) & Bryan Cranston and stars Giovanni Ribisi, Marin Ireland, Margo Martindale, Shane McRae, Libe Barer and Peter Gerety. Cranston also appears in the series as a guest star. The drama follows a conman who, after leaving prison, takes cover from his past by assuming the identity of his former cellmate, and gets roped into the family’s bail bond business. Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters) has directed the pilot episode.
Nathan Barr Scoring Amazon’s ‘Casanova’
Nathan Barr has composed the music for the new Amazon Studios pilot Casanova. The show marks the TV debut of Academy Award-nominated director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children, A Very Long Engagement) and stars Diego Luna in the title role, alongside Bojana Novakovic, Miranda Richardson and Ben Daniels. The period drama is set in the 18th century and follows Venetian Giacomo Casanova who escapes from prison and flees to France. Stuart Zicherman (Six Degrees, Elektra) has written the pilot script and is also executive producing the project with Jeunet and Electus’ Ben Silverman (The Office, Marco Polo).
Dustin O’Halloran’s ‘Transparent’ Theme Released
(Updated on June 2, 2015): Amazon Content Services has released the main titles theme for the Golden Globe-winning Amazon Studios original series Transparent. The theme is composed by Dustin O’Halloran (Like Crazy, Breathe In, Now Is Good). The release features the composer’s theme as featured in the show’s main titles sequence, as well as a longer solo piano version. Visit Amazon to download the EP featuring the two tracks. A full soundtrack album featuring songs from the first season of the comedy drama, as well as two tracks from O’Halloran’s score has been released earlier last December. Transparent created by Jill Soloway and starring Gaby Hoffmann, Jay Duplass, Amy Landecker, Judith Light and Jeffrey Tambor is now available to stream on Amazon and a second season will premiere later this year.
Amazon’s ‘Lost in Oz’ to Feature Theme Music by Mark Mothersbaugh and Score by Adam Berry
Mark Mothersbaugh is writing the theme music and Adam Berry is composing the original score for the Amazon Studios pilot Lost in Oz. The animated show is set in a modern, metropolitan Emerald City in which 12-year-old Dorothy Gale befriends West, a young, street-smart witch grappling with dark temptations, and Ojo, a giant munchkin. Bureau of Magic’s Darin Mark, Jared Mark, Abram Makowka and Mark Warshaw (East Los High, Smallville) are developing and producing the project, which is designed by Flaunt Productions and animated by Arc Productions (9, Gnomeo & Juliet).

Premiering tonight is the AMC original series Better Call Saul created by Vince Gilligan & Peter Gould and starring Bob Odenkirk. The show is a spin-off of AMC’s Breaking Bad and features original music composed by Dave Porter (The Blacklist). Better Call Saul focuses on the character of attorney Saul Goodman from the Emmy-winning hit drama, which was also scored by Porter for its full five season run. John Debney Scoring Amazon’s ‘Point of Honor’ Pilot
John Debney has been tapped to score the upcoming Amazon Studios pilot Point of Honor . The show is created by Academy Award-nominated writer Randall Wallace (Braveheart, We Were Soldiers, The Man in the Iron Mask) & Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and stars Nathan Parsons, Christopher O’Shea, Annabelle Stephenson, Riley Voelkel, Hanna Mangan Lawrence, Patrick Heusinger, Luke Benward, Adrienne Warren, Lucien Laviscount and James Harvey Ward. The historical drama centers on a Virginia family who at the outset of the Civil War makes the controversial decision to defend the South while freeing all of their slaves. Wallace has also directed the pilot and is executive producing the project with Cuse and Barry Jossen (Sex and the City).
