‘Hard Truths’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Caldera Records has announced a soundtrack album for Mike Leigh’s drama Hard Truths. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Gary Yershon (Mr. Turner, Happy-Go-Lucky, Brighton, Another Year, Trial and Retribution, 23 Walks). Also included is the composer’s score from Leigh’s previous feature Peterloo (partially released as a digital EP back in 2018), as well as the director’s stage plays Grief and Two Thousand Years. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Win Golden Globe for ‘Challengers’ Score

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have received their third Golden Globe in the Original Score category for their score for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers at tonight’s 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony. They previously won the award for their music for The Social Network & Soul and were also nominated for their The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and Mank scores. ‘The Split: Barcelona’ Soundtrack EP Released

Cherry Bang has released a soundtrack EP for the BBC drama special The Split: Barcelona. The 4-track EP features the original songs from the 2-parter written and performed by Olivia Broadfield. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to all four songs after the jump. A CD version will be released in the UK on January 31. The Split: Barcelona is written by Abi Morgan, directed by Giulia Gandini and stars Nicola Walker, Toby Stephens, Manu Fullola and Romina Cocca. The special (scored by Evan Jolly) is set two years after the events from the finale of the original series and follows family lawyer Hannah Defoe attending a wedding at a vineyard, nestled in Catalonia’s wine region with her family, where she is compelled to banish the ghosts of her past and open herself up to the possibility of love again. Opening semi-wide in around 700 U.S. theaters this weekend is the period psychological horror drama The Damned directed by Thordur Palsson and starring Odessa Young and Joe Cole. The film’s original music composed by Stephen McKeon (Evil Dead Rise, The Hole in the Ground, Pilgrimage, Queen & Country, Norm of the North, The Cellar, Rose Plays Julie). Moonflower Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last July following the movie’s premiere at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival.
