Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror feature Backrooms directed by Kane Parsons and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett and Lukita Maxwell. The film’s original music is composed by Edo Van Breemen (The Monkey, Keeper, Afflicted, Air, Hollow in the Land, The Backward Class) and Parsons. A24 Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the score today. Also opening nationwide is the historical drama Pressure written and directed by Anthony Maras and starring Andrew Scott, Brendan Fraser, Damian Lewis, Chris Messina and Kerry Condon. Volker Bertelmann (Conclave, Lion, All Quiet on the Western Front, Dune: Prophecy, The Day of the Jackal, The Amateur,Adrift, A House of Dynamite, One Life) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. ‘Balandrau’ Soundtrack Released

La Cupula Music has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish survival drama Balandrau (Balandrau, viento salvaje). The album features the film’s original score composed by Arnau Bataller (A Perfect Day, The Vault, She Walks in Darkness, [REC] 4: Apocalypse, The 47, Killer Book Club, Wake Up, Prey, The Chosen). Balandrau is directed by Fernando Trullols and stars Àlvaro Cervantes, Bruna Cusí, Marc Martínez, Àgata Roca, Edu Lloveras, Anna Moliner, Pep Ambrós and Francesc Garrido. The movie is based on true events that began on December 30, 2000 when a group of mountaineers began their ascent of the titular mountain and an unexpected blizzard struck, triggering one of the most severe storms ever recorded in the Pyrenees.

Smiley is created by Guillem Clua based on his own play and stars Miki Esparbé, Carlos Cuevas, Meritxell Calvo, Pepón Nieto, Giannina Fruttero, Ruth Llopis, Eduardo Lloveras and Ramon Pujol. The romantic comedy follows two men and their friends in Barcelona as they navigate hesitations, hangups and missed connections while searching for the true love they’ve been missing.
