The film is written and directed by Mike Leigh (Secrets & Lies, Vera Drake, Naked) and stars Kate O’Flynn, Alice Bailey Johnson, Marion Bailey and Paul Jesson. The movie follows a devoted social worker as she navigates her father’s declining health and the challenges of approaching middle age alongside her lifelong friend, finding comfort and laughter in their shared bond.

Caldera Records has announced a soundtrack album for Mike Leigh’s drama Hard Truths. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Gary Yershon (Mr. Turner, Happy-Go-Lucky, Brighton, Another Year, Trial and Retribution, 23 Walks). Also included is the composer’s score from Leigh’s previous feature Peterloo (partially released as a digital EP back in 2018), as well as the director’s stage plays Grief and Two Thousand Years. Composer Gary Yershon (Brighton, Trial and Retribution, 23 Walks) is reteaming with director Mike Leigh on the upcoming British drama Hard Truths. The film is written and directed by Leigh (Secrets & Lies, Vera Drake, Naked) and stars Marianne Jean-Baptiste. No plot details have been announced yet, but the movie is being described as a “tough but compassionate intimate study of family life.” Georgina Lowe is producing the Thin Man Films and The Mediapro production. Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for Mike Leigh’s 2004 British drama Vera Drake starring Imelda Staunton, Phil Davis, Daniel Mays & Eddie Marsan featuring the film’s original music composed by Andrew Dickson. Also included is the composer’s score for Leigh’s 2002 feature All or Nothing starring Timothy Spall & Lesley Manville, as well as selections of his music from Goran Paskaljevic’s Someone Else’s America and Noemie Lvovsky’s 2004 French drama Forget Me (Oublie-moi). Andrew Dickson’s Scores for Mike Leigh’s ‘Naked & ‘Secrets & Lies’ to Be Released
Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release of four original scores composed by Andrew Dickson (Vera Drake) for movies directed by Mike Leigh, including the composer’s music for the 1993 comedy Naked starring David Thewlis and for the Academy Award-nominated 1996 feature Secrets & Lies starring Timothy Spall, Brenda Blethyn & Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Also included are Dickon’s scores for Leigh’s 1983 TV movie Meantime and the 1988 comedy High Hopes, as well as an interview with Leigh as a bonus track. Dubois Records has released a soundtrack EP for Mike Leigh’s period drama Peterloo. The 5-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Gary Yershon who has previously collaborated with the director on his last couple of movies, including Happy-Go-Lucky, Another Year, as well as Mr. Turner, for which the composer received his first Academy Award nomination. The film is written and directed by Leigh (Secret & Lies, Vera Drake, Topsy-Turvy) and tells the story of the infamous 1819 massacre at a peaceful pro-democracy rally at St. Peter’s Field in Manchester, England, when many working people were injured and killed. Georgina Lowe is producing the Amazon Studios, Film4, the BFI and Lipsync production. Yershon has previously collaborated with Leigh on the director’s previous three features, Happy-Go-Lucky, Another Year and Mr. Turner, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination.

Gary Yershon has reteamed with director Mike Leigh on the director’s upcoming biographical drama Mr. Turner. The film stars Timothy Spall as the British the british landscape painter J.M.W. Turner. Lesley Manville, Rogers Ashton-Griffiths and Julian Seager are co-starring. Leigh has also written the screenplay. Georgina Lowe (Another Year) is producing the project and Gail Egan (We Need to Talk About Kevin, Byzantium) is executive producing. Yershon has previously scored Leigh’s last two features, Another Year and Happy-Go-Lucky, as well as the short A Running Jump. He also served as the music supervisor and arranger of the director’s Topsy-Turvy.

Varese Sarabande Records has revealed the details of the soundtrack release for Mike Leigh’s Another Year. The album includes the original chamber score by Gary Yershon from the critically acclaimed drama. Also included on the release is Yershon’s score for Mike Leigh’s previous film Happy-Go-Lucky.
