The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil) have composed the music for the first episode of the upcoming Hulu horror anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled The Body, is directed by Paul Davis and stars Tom Bateman, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Aurora Perrineau, David Hull and Ray Santiago. The Body is set in the selfie culture of Los Angeles on Halloween night and follows a sophisticated, overconfident hitman who always carries out his work in style and decides to take things even further one day by transporting his latest victim in plain sight. Michael Wandmacher (Underworld: Blood Wars, Piranha 3D) is scoring the show’s second episode, Flesh & Blood, directed by Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000) and starring Dermot Mulroney, Diana Silvers and Tembi Locke.

Lalo Schifrin to Receive Honorary Academy Award at 2018 Governors Awards
The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted Tuesday night (September 4) to present an Honorary Award to composer Lalo Schifrin. He will be honored at the Academy’s 10th Annual Governors Awards on Sunday, November 18, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center. Born and raised in Argentina, Schifrin studied classical music and jazz in France before beginning to compose for film in Buenos Aires in the mid-1950s. He has written scores for more than 100 films, including The Cincinnati Kid, Dirty Harry, Enter the Dragon and Rush Hour.
Thomas Newman Scoring John Lee Hancock’s ‘The Highwaymen’
Thomas Newman is reteaming with director John Lee Hancock on the upcoming Netflix original movie The Highwaymen. The crime drama starring Kevin Costner, Woody Harrelson, Kathy Bates, John Carroll Lynch, Kim Dickens, Thomas Mann and William Sadler is based on the true events of Texas Ranger Frank Hamer and ex-partner Maney Gault, who are drawn out of retirement in a last-ditch effort to hunt down Bonnie and Clyde. John Fusco (Young Guns, Hidalgo, Marco Polo) wrote the screenplay with Hancock and Scott Frank (Godless, Out of Sight, Logan).
‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Soundtrack Details
Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the biographical drama Bohemian Rhapsody. The album features the songs from the film performed by Queen, including classics tracks such as We Will Rock You, Somebody to Love, We Are the Champions, Another One Bites the Dust, Under Pressure (with David Bowie), The Show Must Go On & more. The soundtrack will be released on October 19, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bohemian Rhapsody is directed by Bryan Singer and stars Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aiden Gillen, Tom Hollander and Mike Myers. Soundtrack Album for Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Suspiria’ Announced
Thom Yorke has announced a soundtrack album for Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria remake. The album features the film’s original music composed by the Radiohead member who made his feature film scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released on October 26, 2018 by XL Recordings and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Listen to a track from the album after the jump. Suspiria is based on Dario Argento’s 70s classic and stars Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf and Chloe Grace Moretz. The movie just premiered at the Venice Film Festival this past weekend and will be released in select U.S. theaters on October 26 by Amazon Studios before expanding nationwide the following week.

The full details of the soundtrack album for Yann Demange’s dramatic thriller White Boy Rick have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Taboo, Waltz with Bashir, Miss Sloane, Hostiles). The soundtrack will be released physically on September 21, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A digital version is expected to come out a week earlier and will be available to download here. White Boy Rick starring Matthew McConaughey, Richie Merritt, Bel Powley, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brian Tyree Henry, Rory Cochrane, RJ Cyler, Jonathan Majors, Eddie Marsan, Bruce Dern and Piper Laurie is set in 1980s Detroit and tells the true story of a blue-collar father and his teenage son who became an undercover police informant and later a drug dealer, before he was abandoned by his handlers and sentenced to life in prison.

The Newton Brothers have been tapped to score the upcoming supernatural thriller Mary. The film is directed by Michael Goi (Megan Is Missing) and stars Gary Oldman, Emily Mortimer, Owen Teague, Jennifer Esposito, Stefanie Scott, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Chloe Perrin. The movie centers on a family that buys an old ship at auction and discovers the ship’s secrets once they are out on the isolated open waters. Anthony Jaswinski (The Shallows) wrote the screenplay.

Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete soundtrack for the 1984 romantic comedy The Lonely Guy directed Arthur Hiller and starring Steve Martin, Charles Grodin, Judith Ivey, Steve Lawrence and Robyn Douglass. The album features the film’s complete original score composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Patton, Poltergeist), as well as alternate cues and revisions.
