Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the comedy Nightbitch. The album features the film’s original score composed by Nate Heller (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, The Diary of a Teenage Girl, Can You Ever Forgive Me?). Also included is the original song Summer Blue written by Heller and performed by the composer feat. King Isis. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 6 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The film is written and directed by Marielle Heller and stars Amy Adams, Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Zoë Chao, Emmett James Snowden, Archana Rajan, Mary Holland and Jessica Harper. The movie is based on Rachel Yoder’s debut novel of the same title and tells the story of a woman thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre signs that she may be turning into a canine.

Nate Heller to Score Marielle Heller’s Untitled Mr. Rogers Biopic
Composer Nate Heller is reuniting with Marielle Heller on the director’s upcoming, currently untitled next movie, which tells the story of the real-life friendship that blossomed between Fred Rogers and cynical journalist Tom Junod. Tom Hanks is portraying Rogers and Matthew Rhys plays Junod. They are joined by Chris Cooper who stars as Junod’s father. Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster (Transparent, The Motel Life) wrote the screenplay. Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, Loving) are producing the project for Big Beach, alongside Youree Henley (The Beguiled, The Bling Ring).

Nate Heller is reteaming with director Marielle Heller to score the upcoming comedy Can You Ever Forgive Me?. The film starring Melissa McCarthy, Richard E. Grant, Jane Curtin, Dolly Wells, Anna Deavere Smith and Jennifer Westfeldt is based on Lee Israel’s memoir of the same title and revolves around the journalist who had fallen on hard times in the early 90s and began selling letters that she had forged from deceased writers and actors. Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said, Friends with Money) wrote the screenplay. Anne Carey (Mr. Holmes, Adventureland, The American) and Amy Nauiokas (10’000 Saints) are producing the project with David Yarnell.
