Premiering tonight is the new CW drama Charmed developed by Jessica O’Toole & Amy Rardin and Jennie Snyder Urman and starring Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Ser’Darius Blain, Ellen Tamaki and Rupert Evans. The show’s original music is composed by Will Bates (The Path, The Looming Tower, The Magicians, Nightflyers, I Origins, Another Earth). Also premiering tonight is the HBO original series Camping created by Lena Dunham & Jenni Konner and starring Jennifer Garner, David Tennant, Juliette Lewis, Arturo Del Puerto and Ione Skye. Singer/songwriter Ben Lee is composing the show’s original music. The comedy follows a not-so-happily married couple who outdoor trip to celebrate on of their birthdays is derailed by uninvited guests and forces of nature, turning the weekend into a test of marriage and friendships. Four new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the war movie Act of Valor directed by Scott Waugh & Mike “Mouse” McCoy about a group of active-duty Navy SEALs that is sent across the globe as they track the terrorist ring to the U.S.-Mexico border. Relativity Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s country songs by artists including Keith Urban, Sugarland and Lady Antebellum. Check out our previous article for the full details and audio clips. The label has also released a separate soundtrack featuring the movie’s original score by composer Nathan Furst. Also opening wide is the thriller Gone directed by Heitor Dhalia and starring Amanda Seyfried, Daniel Dunjata, Jennifer Carpenter, Sebastian Stan and Wes Bentley. The film’s score is written by David Buckley (The Town, Forbidden Kingdom). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally earlier this week and the CD version is set to come out next month. Craig Wedren to Score ‘Thanks for Sharing’

Craig Wedren is scoring the upcoming indie comedy drama Thanks for Sharing. The film marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Stuart Blumberg (The Kids Are All Right) and stars Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim Robbins, Joely Richardson, Patrick Fugit, Josh Gad and Alecia Moore. The movie revolves around a group of unlikely friends who are brought together through their shared determination to recover from sex addiction and forge meaningful relationships for the first time in their lives. Blumberg co-wrote the screenplay with actor Matt Winston.

Craig Wedren to score ‘Wanderlust’

Craig Wedren has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Wanderlust. The movie unites producer Judd Apatow with director David Wain. Wain has previously collaborated with Wedren on such movies as Wet Hot American Summer, The Ten and his first big studio feature Role Models in 2008. Wanderlust centers around an urban couple branching out to live a more counter-culture lifestyle. The film which has recently started post-production stars Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, Malin Akerman, Ray Liotta and Justin Theroux. Universal Pictures is planning a release on October 7, 2011.
