Varese Sarabande will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black created by Jenji Kohan and starring Taylor Schilling. The album will feature the selections from the show’s original score composed by Gwendolyn Sanford, Brandon Jay and Scott Doherty. The soundtrack is set to be released on May 12, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label will also release the first soundtrack album for the BBC America original series Orphan Black created by Graeme Manson & John Fawcett and starring Tatiana Maslan. Jeff Richmond Scoring Netflix’s ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’
Jeff Richmond is composing the score for the new Netflix original comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The show is created by Tina Fey & Robert Karlock (30 Rock) and stars Ellie Kemper, Jane Krakowski, Tituss Burgess, Lauren Adams, Sara Chase, Sol Miranda and Carol Kane. The series follows a young woman who, after living in a cult for fifteen years, decides to reclaim her life and start over in New York City and quickly finds a new job, a new roommate and a new beginning. Fey & Karlock are also executive producing the Universal Television production, which was originally developed for NBC, with Richmond, Jack Burditt (The Mindy Project, Last Man Standing) and David Miner (Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

Eye Candy follows a tech genius who is persuaded by her roommate to begin online dating and begins to suspect that one of her mysterious suitors might be a deadly cyber stalker. Tony Morales and Edward Rogers are composing the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Bloodline. The show is created by Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman & Glenn Kessler (Damages) and stars Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane, Jacinda Barrett and Enrique Murcian. The dramatic thriller follows a close-knit family of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. The Kessler brothers and Zelman are also producing the Sony Pictures Television.

Premiering tonight is the Lifetime original mini-series The Red Tent directed by Roger Young, executive produced by Paula Weinstein and starring Minnie Driver, Morena Baccarin, Rebecca Ferguson, Iain Glen, Will Tudor and Debra Winger. The series’ original music is composed by Laurent Eyquem (Copperhead, Winnie Mandela, Rage). The two-parter based on the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant tells the story of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob and will air tonight and tomorrow on Lifetime. Peter Nashel & Eric V. Hachikian Scoring Netflix’s ‘Marco Polo’
Peter Nashel and Eric V. Hachikian are composing the score for the upcoming Netflix original series Marco Polo. The show is created by John Fusco (Forbidden Kingdom, Hidalgo) and stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Zhu Zhu, Joan Chen, Benedict Wong, Remy Hii, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Uli Latukefu, Chin Han and Tom Wu. The drama is based on the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th century China. Fusco is also executive producing the project with Harvey Weinstein and Dan Minahan (Game of Thrones, True Blood). Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directed the first two episodes and also serve as executive producers.
John Paesano to Score Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ Series
John Paesano has been hired to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix series Daredevil. The show based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson and Scott Glenn. The series follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods, Cloverfield) and Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel) are executive producing the Marvel Television and ABC Studios with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville).
