John Jennings Boyd (Being Evel, A Lego Brickumentary, How High 2, 40 Years a Prisoner) & Eric V. Hachikian (Marco Polo, When We First Met, Life of a King) have teamed up to score the upcoming animated movie event Batman: Knightfall – Part 1. The film is directed by Jeff Wamester (Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earth, Green Lantern: Beware My Power) and stars Anson Mount as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Mando as Bane and Pablo Schreiber as Jean-Paul Valley/Azrael. The first part of a trilogy follows the Caped Crusader as he is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point when the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman’s entire Rogue’s Gallery from Arkham Asylums.

‘How High 2’ Soundtrack EP Released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack EP for the comedy sequel How High 2. The EP features the film’s original score composed by John Jennings Boyd (Being Evel, A Lego Brickumentary) & Eric V. Hachikian (Marco Polo, When We First Met, Life of a King). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. How High 2 is directed by directed by Bruce Leddy and stars Lil Yachty, D.C. Young Fly, DeRay Davis, Alyssa Goss, Mary Lynn Rajskub, as well as Mike Epps who is reprising his role from the original 2001 movie. The comedy follows two young “potrepreneurs” on a magical hash-fueled journey to fund their on-demand munchies delivery start-up.

Eric V. Hachikian (Marco Polo, When We First Met, Life of a King) and John Jennings Boyd (Being Evel, A Lego Brickumentary) have composed the original score for the new MTV original movie How High 2. The film is directed by Bruce Leddy and stars Lil Yachty, D.C. Young Fly, Alyssa Goss, DeRay Davis and Mary Lynn Rajskub, as well as Mike Epps who is reprising his role from the original movie. The movie is the sequel to the 2001 theatrical feature and follows two young “potrepreneurs” on a magical hash-fueled journey to fund their on-demand munchies delivery start-up. Shawn Ries & Artie Johann wrote the script.

Premiering tonight is the third installment in the Cloverfield series, The Cloverfield Paradox directed by Julius Onah and starring David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang and Daniel Brühl. Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Colossal, Happy Death Day) who previously scored 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album is in the works and will be released by the composer’s label Sparks & Shadows. Premiering on Thursday, February 8, is the Crackle original movie In the Cloud directed Robert Scott Wildes and starring Nora Arnezeder, Gabriel Byrne, Justin Chatwin, Tomiwa Edun and Laura Fraser. The film’s original music is composed by John Matthias and Jay Auborn. The sci-fi thriller follows two estranged tech geniuses who reunite after the death of their mentor to devise a VR technology to extract a terrorist’s memories. Eric Hachikian Scoring Ari Sandel’s ‘When We First Met’
Eric Hachikian is composing the original score for the upcoming romantic comedy When We First Met. The film is directed by Ari Sandel (The DUFF, West Bank Story) and stars Adam Devine, Alexandra Daddario and Robbie Amell. The movie revolves around a man who spends the perfect first night with the girl of his dreams, but gets relegated to the friend zone. Three years later, he gets the unexpected chance to travel back in time and alter that night, and his fate, over and over again. Devine also co-wrote the screenplay with John Whittington (The LEGO Batman Movie).
Netflix’s ‘Marco Polo’ Soundtrack Details
Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Marco Polo. The album features selection from the show’s original music composed by Peter Nashel (Lie to Me, Bee Season, Life on Mars) and Eric V. Hachikian, as well as the main titles theme by Daniele Luppi (Magic City). The soundtrack is set to be released on May 26, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Marco Polo is created by John Fusco and stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Zhu Zhu, Joan Chen, Benedict Wong, Remy Hii, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Uli Latukefu, Chin Han and Tom Wu. The show tells the story Marco Polo’s early years in the court of Kublai Khan, the Khagan of the Mongolian Empire and the founder of the Yuan dynasty, which lasted from 1271-1368.

Premiering tonight is the Lifetime original mini-series The Red Tent directed by Roger Young, executive produced by Paula Weinstein and starring Minnie Driver, Morena Baccarin, Rebecca Ferguson, Iain Glen, Will Tudor and Debra Winger. The series’ original music is composed by Laurent Eyquem (Copperhead, Winnie Mandela, Rage). The two-parter based on the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant tells the story of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob and will air tonight and tomorrow on Lifetime. Peter Nashel & Eric V. Hachikian Scoring Netflix’s ‘Marco Polo’
Peter Nashel and Eric V. Hachikian are composing the score for the upcoming Netflix original series Marco Polo. The show is created by John Fusco (Forbidden Kingdom, Hidalgo) and stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Zhu Zhu, Joan Chen, Benedict Wong, Remy Hii, Olivia Cheng, Claudia Kim, Uli Latukefu, Chin Han and Tom Wu. The drama is based on the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th century China. Fusco is also executive producing the project with Harvey Weinstein and Dan Minahan (Game of Thrones, True Blood). Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directed the first two episodes and also serve as executive producers.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action comedy Ride Along directed by Tim Story and starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Callen and Laurence Fishburne. The film’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Revolution, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) who previously scored Story’s Think Like a Man and will also score its sequel. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week and a CD version will be coming out on January 28 by Varese Sarabande. Also opening wide is the action thriller Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit written and directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner, as well as Branagh himself. The director’s regular musical collaborator Patrick Doyle (Thor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Sense and Sensibility) has composed the film’s original score. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music digitally earlier this week and a CD version will be coming out in a few weeks.
