Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature. The album features the film’s original music composed by Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me series, Minions, The Smurfs, If I Stay). Also included is Luke Edgemon’s song Everybody Get Nuts. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature is directed by Cal Brunker and features the voices of Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Bobby Moynihan, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, Bobby Cannavale, Isabel Moner, Sebastian Maniscalo and Jackie Chan.

Heitor Pereira to Score ‘The Nut Job 2’
Heitor Pereira has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature The Nut Job 2. The film is directed by Cal Brunker (Escape From Planet Earth) and features the voices of Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Gabriel Iglesias and Jeff Dunham who reprise their characters from the original movie. The sequel follows Surly Squirrel and his ragtag group of animal friends band as they come together to defeat the evil mayor of Oaktown who decides to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Brunker has also written the screenplay with Bob Barlen and Scott Bindley (Madison).
‘The Nut Job’ Soundtrack Released
A soundtrack album was released for the hit animated feature The Nut Job. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Intson who recorded his score with a 62-piece orchestra and a 13-piece big band. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. The Nut Job is directed and co-written by Peter Lepeniotis and features the voice talent of Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon and Jeff Dunham. The movie follows the exploits of a feisty squirrel who must leave his park homeland and find the means to survive in the big city. The animated feature is currently playing in theaters nationwide.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action comedy Ride Along directed by Tim Story and starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Callen and Laurence Fishburne. The film’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Revolution, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) who previously scored Story’s Think Like a Man and will also score its sequel. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music earlier this week and a CD version will be coming out on January 28 by Varese Sarabande. Also opening wide is the action thriller Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit written and directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner, as well as Branagh himself. The director’s regular musical collaborator Patrick Doyle (Thor, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Sense and Sensibility) has composed the film’s original score. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music digitally earlier this week and a CD version will be coming out in a few weeks.
