A soundtrack album will be released for the third and final season of the historical drama Borgia. The album features selection from the show’s original score composed by Eric Neveux (Intimacy, The Attack, Sitcom) who previously wrote the music for the second season. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Silva Screen Records has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music for Season 2. Borgia is created by Tom Fontana and stars John Doman, Stanley Weber, Mark Ryder, Isolda Dychauk, Diarmuid Noyes, Assumpta Serna and Marta Gastini. The final season of the show about the Borgia family’s rise to power and subsequent domination of the Papal States during the Renaissance airs this fall in Europe and is expected to premiere in the U.S. on Netflix later this year or in early 2015.

Premiering on Wednesday, August 20, on Netflix in the U.S. is the BBC mini-series Happy Valley created by Sally Wainwright (Last Tango in Halifax) and starring Sarah Lancashire, Steve Pemberton, Siobhan Finneran, George Costigan and Joe Armstrong. The show’s original music is composed by Ben Foster (Torchwood, Hidding Kingdoms). Happy Valley centers around the personal and professional life of hardworking, dedicated policewoman in a small town where alcoholics, drug addicts and pregnant teens are a way of life. The crime drama premiered this spring in the UK and all six episodes will be available to stream on Netflix starting Wednesday.
Jesse Novak to Score Netflix’s ‘BoJack Horseman’
Jesse Novak has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix animated series BoJack Horseman. The show is created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg and features the voices of Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie and Aaron Paul. The animated comedy centers around whiskey-drinking humanoid horse and former TV star BoJack who deals with his personal crises with a human sidekick and a feline agent and ex-lover. Bob-Waksberg is also executive producing the project with Arnett, Paul, Steven A. Cohen (Jack & Bobby, Commander-in-Chief) and Noel Bright. The first season of BoJack Horseman is set to premiere on August 22, 2014 on Netflix.
‘House of Cards’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the second soundtrack album for the Netflix original series House of Cards. The album features selections from the score of the show’s second season composed by Jeff Beal (Rome, Monk, Appaloosa, Pollock). The soundtrack will be released as a 2-CD set on June 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Season 2 version of the composer’s main title theme is already available to download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring music from the first season. House of Cards developed by Beau Willimon, executive produced by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Kristen Connolly, Corey Stoll and Constance Zimmer received three Emmy Awards in 2013 and nine Emmy nominations including nods for Beal’s main titles theme and underscore. The drama’s second season is now available to stream on Netflix and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on June 17.
‘Orange Is the New Black’ Soundtrack Announced
Universal Music will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black. The album features key tracks from the show, including the Grammy-nominated song You’ve Got Time by Regina Spektor which was specifically created for the show. Other artists included are Kelis, The Velvet Underground, Nico, Betty Davis, Latimore, The Staples Singers and more. The soundtrack will be released on May 13, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album will be available in three configurations including CD, Digital and a special edition, first run only of orange vinyl, which is available for pre-order here. Orange Is the New Black created by Jenji Kohan stars Taylor Schilling as an engaged Brooklynite whose wild past comes back to haunt her and results in her arrest and detention in a federal penitentiary.

This past Tuesday, the animated series Turbo FAST premiered on Netflix. The show based on this summer’s animated feature from DreamWorks Animation is produced by Ben Kalina & Jennifer Ray and executive produced by Chris Prynoski and featuring the voices of Reid Scott and Ken Jeong who reprises his role from the feature film. Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph) and Halli Cauthery (The East) have written the show’s original score. ‘Arrested Development’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the critically acclaimed comedy Arrested Development. The album features selections from the original score and songs from all four seasons of the show composed by David Schwartz (Deadwood, Northern Exposure). Also included is the song Boomerang performed by Lucy Schwartz, which was featured in the season finale of the fourth season. The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Arrested Development is created by Mitchell Hurwitz, produced and narrated Ron Howard and stars Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Alia Shawkat, Tony Hale, David Cross, Jeffrey Tambor and Jessica Walter. The fourth season premiered this summer on Netflix.

Premiering on Saturday, July 19 is Disney Channel’s original movie musical Teen Beach Movie directed by Jeffrey Hornaday and starring Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell, Grace Phipps, Garrett Clayton, John DeLuca, Chrissie Fit, Kevin Chamberlin and Steve Valentine. The film’s original score is composed by David Lawrence (American Pie, Van Wilder, Jericho) who previously scored all three parts of Disney’s High School Musical series. Premiering tonight is the HBO original movie Behind the Candelabra directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Dan Aykroyd, Rob Lowe, Scott Bakula and Debbie Reynolds. Late composer Marvin Hamlisch (The Sting, The Way We Were) served as the executive music producer on the project. Elektra Records has released a soundtrack album featuring music adapted by Hamlisch, as well as several pieces by pianist Liberace, played in the film by Douglas. Premiering tomorrow, April 15 is the new sci-fi series Defiance created by Rockne S. O’Bannon (Farscape) and starring Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Jaime Murray, Tony Curran, Graham Greene, Mia Kirshner and Fionnula Flanagan. Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead) is composing the show’s score. It has been announced this past week that the composer’s new label Sparks & Shadows will release a soundtrack album later this year. A soundtrack for the crossover MMO video game is already available. Defiance is set in a post-apocalyptic future St. Louis after a lengthy war on Earth between humans and a consortium of invading alien races has completely transformed the surface of the planet.
