Mac McCaughan of the rock bands Superchunk and Portastatic has composed the original score for the new Netflix original film Moxie. The movie is directed by Amy Poehler (Wine Country) and stars Hadley Robinson, Lauren Tsai, Alycia Pascual-Pena, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Nico Hiraga, Sydney Park, Josephine Langford, Clark Gregg, Anjelika Washington, Josie Totah, Charlie Hall, Sabrina Haskett, as well as Ike Barinholtz and Marcia Gay Harden. The teen comedy drama is based on the novel by Jennifer Mathieu and follows a shy 16-year-old who – inspired by her mom’s rebellious past and a confident new friend – publishes an anonymous zine calling out sexism at her school.

Dave Rowntree & Ian Arber Scoring Netflix’s ‘The One’
Ian Arber (Medici, My Name Is Lenny, I Am Bolt) & Blur drummer Dave Rowntree (After the Screaming Stops, White Island) have teamed up to score the new British Netflix original series The One. The show is created by Howard Overman (Misfits, Future Man) based on a book by John Marrs and stars Hannah Ware, Dimitri Leonidas, Amir El-Masry, Stephen Campbell, Wilf Scolding, Diarmaid Murtagh, Lois Chimimba, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Pallavi Sharda, Zoë Tapper and Gregg Chillin. The sci-fi drama revolves around a DNA researcher who helps discover a way to find the perfect partner, and creates a bold new matchmaking service.

Premiering tonight is the HBO docu-series Allen v. Farrow directed by Kirby Dick & Amy Ziering about the accusation of sexual abuse against Woody Allen involving his 7-year-old daughter with Mia Farrow. The show’s original music is composed by Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Bad Education, All Day and a Night, See You Yesterday). Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, February 22, is the HBO Europe original series Beartown (Björnstad) created by Anders Weidemann, Antonia Pyk & Linn Gottfridsson based on the Fredrik Backman’s novel of the same title and starring Ulf Stenberg and Aliette Opheim. Johan Testad (The Sandhamn Murders, Inkognito, Drifters) has composed the show’s original music. Music Super Circus has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last fall when the series premiered in Scandinavia. Antonio Pinto, Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim Scoring Netflix Documentary ‘Pelé’
Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Amy, Lord of War, Senna, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind), Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim (The Mechanism) have composed the original score for the new Netflix original documentary Pelé. The film is directed by David Tryhorn & Ben Nicholas and tells the story of iconic footballer Pelé, his quest for perfection and the mythical status he attained. The movie, which features interviews with Pelé himself, Zagallo, Rivellino, Juca Kfouri & Gilberto Gil, looks back at the extraordinary 12-year period in which the football player, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from young superstar in 1958 to national hero in 1970.
‘The Social Dilemma’ Soundtrack Album Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Crawford. Also included is Brandi Carlile’s & Renée Elise Goldsberry’s cover version of I Put a Spell on You (also available separately as a digital single). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. The Social Dilemma is directed by Jeff Orlowski and focuses on the consequences of our growing dependence on social media. The movie produced by Larissa Rhodes explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creation.

Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Behind Her Eyes. The show is developed by Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher, Hannibal) based on the best-selling novel by Sarah Pinboroug and stars Simona Brown, Eve Hewson, Tom Bateman and Robert Aramayo. The psychological thriller follows a single mother as she enters a world of twisted mind games when she begins an affair with her psychiatrist boss while secretly befriending his mysterious wife.
‘I Care a Lot’ Soundtrack Album Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller I Care a Lot. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marc Canham (The Disappearance of Alice Creed, Close, Final Girl, Burn Burn Burn). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, February 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. I Care a Lot is written and directed by J Blakeson and stars Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage, Dianne Wiest, Eiza González, Chris Messina, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Macon Blair, Alicia Witt and Damian Young. The movie follows a crooked legal guardian who drains the savings of her elderly wards meets her match when a woman she tries to swindle turns out to be more than she first appears.

Dan Deacon to Score Jeremiah Zagar’s ‘Hustle’
Dan Deacon has signed on to score the upcoming Netflix original film Hustle. The movie is directed by Jeremiah Zagar (We the Animals) and stars Adam Sandler, Queen Latifah, Ben Foster and Robert Duvall, as well as NBA analyst Kenny Smith, and Minnesota Timberwolves forward Juancho Hernangomez. The sports comedy drama follows a down on his luck basketball scout who discovers discovers a phenomenal street ball player with a rocky past while in China and sees the prospect as his opportunity to get back into the NBA. Taylor Materne and Will Fetters (A Star Is Born, Remember Me) wrote the screenplay.
‘To All The Boys: Always and Forever’ Soundtrack Album Details
Capitol Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original film To All The Boys: Always and Forever.
