Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Hulu original series The Great. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Emmy Award winner Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hollywood, Cabin Fever, Hostel, Halston, Hemlock Grove). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 28 and will be available to stream/download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from Season 1 back in 2020. The Great is created by Tony McNamara and stars Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Sacha Dhawan, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Adam Godley, Belinda Bromilow, Douglas Hodge, Florence Keith-Roach and Bayo Gbadamosi.

Opening in select theaters and on Amazon Prime today is the musical comedy Cinderella written and directed by Kay Cannon and starring Camila Cabello, Idina Menzel, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter, Pierce Brosnan, Minnie Driver, James Corden and James Acaster. Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, Girl, Interrupted, The Addams Family, Little Miss Sunshine) and Jessica Rose Weiss (Dog Gone Trouble, Friendsgiving, Afterlife of the Party) have composed the film’s original score. Nathan Barr Scoring Cedric Nicolas-Troyan’s Netflix Film ‘Kate’
Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hollywood, Cabin Fever) has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film Kate. The movie is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan (The Huntsman: Winter’s War) and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Woody Harrelson, Michiel Huisman, Tadanobu Asano, Jun Kunimura, Miyavi Lee Ishihara and Miku Martineau. The thriller revolves around a ruthless criminal operative who – after getting poisoned – has less than 24 hours to exact revenge on her enemies and in the process forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her past victims.
Nathan Barr to Score Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’
Composer Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hollywood, Halston) is set to reteam with director Eli Roth on the upcoming film adaptation of the video game franchise Borderlands. The film starring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, Ariana Greenblatt, Haley Bennett, Florian Munteanu and Édgar Ramírez follows a group called Vault Hunters who must travel to the distant planet of Pandora to retrieve an advance alien vault before it falls into the hands of the Atlas Corporation. Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II & III, Chernobyl) wrote the screenplay.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Halston’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Netflix limited series Halston. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Emmy Award winner Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hollywood, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hostel, Cabin Fever, The Great). Also included are three songs performed by Krysta Rodriguez who stars in the drama as Liza Minnelli. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 14 and will be available to stream/download here. Halston is created by Sharr White and stars Ewan McGregor, Bill Pullman, Rebecca Dayan, Krysta Rodriguez, Rory Culkin, Vera Farmiga, Gian Franco Rodriguez, Sullivan Jones, Kelly Bishop, Dilone, Jason Kravits, James Waterston and Mary Beth Peil. The 5-parter executive produced by Ryan Murphy tells the untold story of the meteoric rise and fall of the first American celebrity fashion designer.

Premiering tomorrow, May 10, is the HBO documentary The Crime of the Century directed by Alex Gibney and executive produced by Richard Perello, Todd Hoffman & Aaron Fishman about the origins, extent, and fallout of the opioid crisis in the United States. The original music for the 2-parter is composed by Peter Nashel (I, Tonya, Marco Polo, The Night Listener, Totally Under Control, Bee Season, Book Club). The 5-part drama follows the titular legendary fashion designer as he leverages his single, invented name into a worldwide fashion empire that’s synonymous with luxury, sex, status and fame, defining the era he lives in, 1970’s and ‘80’s New York, before his life starts to spin out of control.

Composer Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Hollywood, Cabin Fever, Hemlock Grove) is reteaming with director Daniel Stamm on the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Devil’s Light. The film starring Jacqueline Byers, Virginia Madsen, Ben Cross, Colin Salmon, Christian Navarro and Nicholas Ralph revolves around a nun studying at a school to master the ritual of exorcism as she confronts a demonic force that infests her school and has mysterious ties to her past. Robert Zappia (5ive Days to Midnight) wrote the screenplay.

The film’s original music is composed by Dolly Parton (who wrote 14 original songs for the project) and conducted by Larry Blank. The holiday musical, which follows a small town “Scrooge” as she’s visited by a rhinestone-bedazzled angel who guides her on a musical journey of redemption, is now available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
Premiering tomorrow, November 23, is the FX and BBC limited series Black Narcissus developed by Amanda Coe based on the novel of the same title by Rumer Godden and starring Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Diana Rigg, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Patsy Ferran, Karen Bryson, Nila Aalia, Kulvinder Ghir, Chaneil Kular, Gina McKee, Soumil Malla, Dipika Kunwar,and Gianni Gonsalves. The show’s original music is composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, American History X, The Crying Game, Poldark, The Hustle). Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Win Emmy Award for ‘Watchmen’
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have won their first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or a Special (Original Dramatic Score) for their score for the episode It’s Summer and We’re Running Out of Ice from the HBO original series Watchmen at today’s fourth night of the Creative Emmy Awards. Nathan Barr received his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Original Main Title Theme Music category for Ryan Murphy’s Netflix limited series Hollywood and Labrinth was honored with his first Emmy in the Outstanding Music and Lyrics category for the original song All For Us from HBO’s Euphoria. Robin Urdang, Daniel Palladino and Amy Sherman-Palladino won the Award in the Outstanding Music Supervision category for Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
