Michael Andrews has recently scored the upcoming HBO documentary The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling. The 2-parter is directed and executive produced by Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Trainwreck, Knocked Up) and centers on the top stand-up comic and TV star who passed away in 2016. The documentary features conversations with more than 40 of Shandling’s family and friends, including James L. Brooks, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, David Coulier, Jon Favreau, Jay Leno, Kevin Nealon, Conan O’Brien, Bob Saget, Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman. Joe Beshenkovsky and Mike Bonfiglio are co-executive producing the project.

The 4-parter tells the stories of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, their improbable partnership and their leading roles in a series of transformative events in contemporary culture and features interview with both men, as well as Bono, Trent Reznor, David Geffen, Eminem, Nas, Stevie Nicks, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani,. Premiering on Wednesday, July 12, is the new CBS drama Salvation developed by Liz Kruger & Craig Shapiro based on a story by Matt Wheeler and starring Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance, Shazi Raja and Ian Anthony Dale. The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi action sequel Transformers: The Last Knight directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Laura Haddock, Jerrod Carmichael, Isabela Moner, Peter Cullen and Anthony Hopkins. Michael Andrews (Bridesmaids, Donnie Darko, Funny People) has composed the film’s original score. Michael Andrews is composing the score for the upcoming Netflix originals series Friends from College. The show is created by Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek) & Francesca Delbanco and stars Keegan-Michael Key, Cobie Smulders, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage and Jae Suh Park. The comedy centers on a group of friends who went to Harvard together and are now facing down their forties and experiencing a range of success, or lack thereof, both professionally and domestically. Stoller directed all episodes of the show’s first season and is also executive producing the project with Delbanco. 
The full details of the soundtrack album for the comedy The Big Sick have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Michael Andrews (Bridesmaids, Donnie Darko, Funny People, Freaks & Geeks, Neighbors, Bad Teacher). Also included is the end credits song My Love by The Bird and The Bee. The soundtrack will be released next month and is now available for pre-order on 
Michael Andrews is set to compose the original score for the upcoming comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2. The film is directed by Sean Anders (Horrible Bosses 2, Sex Drive) and stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini and John Cena in their roles from the original movie. They are joined by new additions Mel Gibson and John Lithgow. The movie follows Brad and Dusty as they must deal with their intrusive fathers during the holidays. Anders wrote the screenplay with John Morris (We’re the Millers, Hot Tub Time Machine).
