Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, Daddy’s Home, Freaks & Geeks, Funny People, Bad Teacher) and DJ Greyboy have composed the original score for the new Netflix original movie Always Be My Maybe. The film is directed by Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23) and stars Ali Wong, Randall Park, Keanu Reeves, Michelle Buteau, Vivian Bang, Karan Soni, Charlyne Yi, Daniel Dae Kim, James Saito, Lyrics Born and Susan Park. The romantic comedy follows a famous chef and a hometown musician who reunite after fifteen years and feel the old sparks of attraction but struggle to adapt to each other’s worlds.

Opening in most theaters is the family drama A Dog’s Way Home directed by Charles Martin Smith and starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Ashley Judd, Wes Studi, Alexandra Shipp, Jonah Hauer-King and Edward James Olmos. ‘Instant Family’ Soundtrack to Be Released
Paramount Music will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Instant Family. The album features the film’s original score composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko, Bridesmaids, Neighbors, The Big Sick, Bad Teacher). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 16 and will be available to download on Amazon. In addition, Republic Records will release the original song I’ll Stay performed by Isabela Moner who also stars in the movie as a digital single (click here to download). Instant Family is directed by Sean Anders and stars Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer, Moner, Tig Notaro and Margo Martindale.

Michael Andrews (Bridesmaids, Neighbors, Freaks & Geeks, Bad Teacher, Funny People) is reuniting with director Sean Anders on the upcoming comedy Instant Family. The film starring Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer, Isabela Moner, Tig Notaro, Iliza Shlesinger and Tom Segura follows a couple who decides to start a family and adopt through the foster-care system, only to find themselves raising three wild kids who have no interest in being parented. Anders (Horrible Bosses 2, Sex Drive) also co-wrote the screenplay with John Morris (We’re the Millers, Hot Tub Time Machine).
Michael Andrews Scoring Peter Segal’s ‘Second Act’
Michael Andrews has recently recorded his score for the upcoming romantic comedy Second Act. The film is directed by Peter Segal (Get Smart, 50 First Dates, Anger Management) and stars Jennifer Lopez, Milo Ventimiglia, Leah Remini, Vanessa Hudgens and Treat Williams. The movie follows a big-box store employee who reinvents her life and her lifestyle to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree. Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas (Maid in Manhattan, Kidnap) and Justin Zackham (The Bucket List, The Big Wedding) wrote the screenplay and are also producing the project with Lopez and Benny Medina (The Fighting Temptations, The Boy Next Door).
