Premiering tonight is the Starz limited series The Spanish Princess based on Philippa Gregory’s best-selling novels and starring Charlotte Hope, Nadia Parkes, Aaron Cobham, Alan McKenna, Richard Pepper, Olly Rix, Jordan Renzo, Daniel Cerqueira and Alicia Borrachero. The show’s original music is composed by Samuel Sim (Awake, The Halcyon, Home Fires) and Chris Egan (Man Down). Premiering tomorrow, May 6, is the HBO mini-series Chernobyl written by Craig Mazin, directed by Johan Renck and starring Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgård and Emily Watson. Hildur Gudnadottir (Joker, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Mary Magdalene, Strong Island) has composed the show’s original music. Deutsche Grammophon will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. The main title theme is already available now as a digital single. The only movie opening nationwide this week is the dramatic thriller All the Money in the World directed by Ridley Scott and starring Michelle Williams, Christopher Plummer, Mark Wahlberg, Romain Duris, Charlie Plummer and Timothy Hutton. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, Molly’s Game, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Gold). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Check out 
Daniel Pemberton has also composed the music for the drama Molly’s Game written and directed by Aaron Sorkin and starring Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, Jeremy Strong, Chris O’Dowd and Bill Camp. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 276 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures to join the organization. Among the invited artists this year are a number of film composers including Ramin Djawadi whose credits include Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Safe House and the upcoming Pacific Rim, Cliff Martinez whose film projects include Contagion, Drive and Best Picture nominee Traffic, Joe Hisaishi who scored the Academy Award-winning animated film Spirited Away, Aaron Zigman who is best known for his work on such films as The Notebook, Sex and the City and Bridge to Terabithia, Henry Jackman who scored this year’s Best Animated Film nominee Wreck-It-Ralph and J. Ralph who was nominated for Best Original Song this year for his work on Chasing Ice. In addition, Prince whose work for film includes Purple Rain and Happy Feet was also invited, as well as Siedah Garrett who performed last year’s Oscar nominated song Real in Rio from Rio.
