Walt Disney Records has announced the premiere vinyl release of the soundtrack for the 2000 animated classic The Emperor’s New Groove directed by Mark Dindal and starring David Spade, John Goodman, Patrick Warburton, Eartha Kitt and Wendie Malick. The album features the film’s original songs written by Sting & David Hartley, as well as six tracks from the animated faeture’s original score composed by John Debney (The Jungle Book, Hocus Pocus, The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2) . The soundtrack, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 25th anniversary, will be released as 2-LP set pressed on lemonade and grape color vinyl on November 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sting, Justin Timberlake and 2014 Oscar winner John Legend will perform at the 89th Oscars ceremony, show producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd announced today. Auli’i Cravalho will join Miranda to perform his Oscar-nominated song How Far I’ll Go written for Moana. Sting will perform The Empty Chair from Jim: The James Foley Story, the Oscar nominated song he co-wrote with three-time Oscar nominee J. Ralph. Timberlake will perform his Oscar-nominated song Can’t Stop The Feeling from the movie Trolls and Legend will perform both Audition (The Fools Who Dream) and City of Stars from La La Land, music by Justin Hurwitz; lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
‘The Empty Chair’ from ‘Jim: The James Foley Story’ to Be Released
Republic Records will release the original song The Empty Chair from the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story. The track is written by Academy Award nominee J. Ralph (Lucky Number Slevin, The Cove, Chasing Ice) and Sting who also performs the song, which will be released tomorrow as a digital single and is now available to download on Amazon. Jim: The James Foley Story is directed by Brian Oakes and centers on the life and work of American journalist James Foley, who was killed by ISIS terrorists in 2014.
