Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller Plane directed by Jean-François Richet and starring Gerard Butler, Mike Colter, Daniella Pineda, Yoson An, Paul Ben-Victor, Remi Adeleke, Joey Slotnick and Tony Goldwyn. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, A Quiet Place, Scream, Logan, Ford v. Ferrari) & Marcus Trumpp (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, Love and Monsters). Also opening wide is the comedy House Party directed by Calmatic and starring Tosin Cole, Jacob Latimore, Karen Obilom, DC Young Fly and Scott Mescudi. Oak Felder has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music & Def Jam Recordings have released a soundtrack album featuring a selection of songs from the movie by artists such as 2 Chainz, Zhané, AUGUST 08, YG feat. ‘The Monkey King: Havoc in Heaven’s Place’ Digital Soundtrack Album Released

Tribeca Tunes has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for the 2014 Chinese fantasy adventure The Monkey King: Havoc in Heaven’s Place directed by Soi Cheang and starring Aaron Kwok, Chow Yun-Fat, Peter Ho, Kelly Chen and Joe Chen. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, Drag Me to Hell, Entrapment, The Hurricane, Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Intrada Records has previously released a CD version of Young’s score back in 2015 and also released the composer’s music from the 2016 sequel.

‘The Offering’ Soundtrack Album Details

Millennium Media Records will release the official soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Offering. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, Sinister, Ghost Rider, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Drag Me to Hell, The Shipping News). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 13, 2023 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Notefornote Music will release a CD version later in January (click here to order and for more details). The Offering is directed by Oliver Park and stars Nick Blood, Emily Wiseman, Paul Kaye, and Allan Corduner. The movie is set in the wake of a young Jewish girl’s disappearance and follows the son of a Hasidic funeral director who returns home with his pregnant wife in hopes of reconciling with his father and finds an ancient evil with sinister plans for the unborn child lurking inside a corpse in the family morgue.

Premiering on Tuesday, November 22, is the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales created by Robert Siegel and starring Kumail Nanjiani, Murray Bartlett, Annaleigh Ashford, Juliette Lewis, Robin de Jesús, Quentin Plair, Spencer Boldman, Andrew Rannells, Nicola Peltz Beckham and Dan Stevens. The show’s original score is composed by Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us, Only Murders in the Building, Queenpins, Looking for Alaska, Runaways). Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services are the scores from Jack Sholder’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge composed by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser), Chuck Russell’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors composed by Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet), Renny Harlin’s A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master composed by Craig Safan (The Last Starfighter, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins), A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child composed by Jay Ferguson (The Office, NCIS: Los Angeles), Rachel Talalay’s Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare composed by Brian May (Mad Max, The Road Warrior) and Ronny Yu’s Freddy vs. Jason composed by Graeme Revell (Dead Calm, Tomb Raider).

Premiering on Tuesday, October 25, is the Netflix anthology series Cabinet of Curiosities created by Guillermo del Toro. Tim Davies (Maya and the Three), Jeff Danna (Onward), Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3), Daniele Luppi (Magic City), Michael Yezerski (Blindspotting), Anne Chmelewsky (Where Hands Touch), Daniel Lopatin (Good Time) and Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant) have composed the score for the eight episodes and Holly Amber Church (Open 24 Hours) has written the main title and prologue music. Also premiering on Tuesday is the fantasy adventure Blade of the 47 Ronin directed by Ron Yuan and starring Anna Akana, Mark Dacascos, Dustin Nguyen, Akira Koieyama, Chris Pang and Mike Moh. The film’s original score is composed by Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn and Alec Puro (Black Summer, The Art of Getting By, All Nighter). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the score and songs (by BlvckNeon, Maddie The Baddie, Simon Morel, Ian Valentine & others) this past Friday. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix anthology series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. The album features selections of the original score from the eight episodes of the show composed by Tim Davies (Maya and the Three, Trollhunters), Jeff Danna (The Addams Family, The Good Dinosaur), Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser), Daniele Luppi (I Am Groot, Magic City), Michael Yezerski (The Tax Collector, Blindspotting), Anne Chmelewsky (Where Hands Touch, Derek), Daniel Lopatin (Good Time, Uncut Gems) and Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, The Snowtown Murders). Also included is the main title and prologue music composed by Holly Amber Church (Open 24 Hours, Ruin Me), as well as Gaby Moreno’s rendition of Lydia Mendoza’s Mal Hombre. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, October 21 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon.

Christopher Young to Score Apple TV+’s ‘Echo 3’

Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister, The Hurricane, The Shipping News) has been hired to score the upcoming Apple TV+ original series Echo 3. The show is written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) based on the Keshet Broadcasting series When Heroes Fly created by Omri Givon and inspired by Amir Gutfreund’s novel and stars Luke Evans, Michiel Huisman, Jessica Ann Collins and Elizabeth Anweis. The 10-part drama is set in South America against the explosive backdrop of a secret war and revolves around a brilliant young scientist who goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border and follows her brother and her husband as they struggle to find her.

Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3, The Hurricane, Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Shipping News, Drag Me to Hell) has revealed during a recent composer panel hosted by Dread Central that he is currently composing the music for the upcoming horror thriller Abyzou. The film is directed by Oliver Park and stars Nick Blood, Emm Wiseman, Allan Corduner, Paul Kaye, Daniel Ben Zenou and Jodie Jacobs. The film is set in a Hasidic community and follows a family struggling with unresolved trauma which finds itself at the mercy of an ancient demon bent on destroying them from the inside. Hank Hoffman wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself & Jonathan Yunger.

The album features the original music from the show’s 3-part episode The Golden Arm (Michigan) composed by Golden Globe nominee Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, The Shipping News, Pet Sematary, Sinister, Ghost Rider, The Hurricane, The Exorcism of Emily Rose). The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD and digital download bundle on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples.
