Intrada Records has announced a soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller The Piper. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Sinister, Spider-Man 3, The Hurricane, Drag Me to Hell, Ghost Rider, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Shipping News) and performed by the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 16 (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). A CD version will be available to order on the label’s official website later today. The Piper is written and directed by Erlingur Thoroddsen and stars Charlotte Hope, Julian Sands, Aoibhe O’Flanagan and Oliver Savell. The movie follows a composer who must finish her late mentor’s concerto, when she discovers that playing its music summons deadly consequences.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the animated sequel Kung Fu Panda 4 directed by Mike Mitchell and starring Jack Black, Viola Davis, Dustin Hoffman, Awkwafina, James Hong, Ian McShane, Bryan Cranston and Ke Huy Quan. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Inception, The Dark Knight, Dune, Gladiator) & Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, The Rhythm Section). Also opening wide is the supernatural horror movie Imaginary directed by Jeff Wadlow and starring DeWanda Wise, Tom Payne, Pyper Braun, Taegen Burns, Betty Buck and Veronica Falcon. Bear McCreary (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has composed the theme(s) for the project and his Sparks & Shadows team has composed the original score. Sparks & Shadows Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music today. Christopher Young to Score Oliver Park’s ‘Abyzou’ & Erlingur Thoroddsen’s ‘The Piper’
Christopher Young (Hellraiser, Spider-Man 3, The Hurricane, Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Shipping News, Drag Me to Hell) has revealed during a recent composer panel hosted by Dread Central that he is currently composing the music for the upcoming horror thriller Abyzou. The film is directed by Oliver Park and stars Nick Blood, Emm Wiseman, Allan Corduner, Paul Kaye, Daniel Ben Zenou and Jodie Jacobs. The film is set in a Hasidic community and follows a family struggling with unresolved trauma which finds itself at the mercy of an ancient demon bent on destroying them from the inside. Hank Hoffman wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself & Jonathan Yunger.
