Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, SinisterThe Hurricane, The Shipping News) has been hired to score the upcoming Apple TV+ original series Echo 3. The show is written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) based on the Keshet Broadcasting series When Heroes Fly created by Omri Givon and inspired by Amir Gutfreund’s novel and stars Luke Evans, Michiel Huisman, Jessica Ann Collins and Elizabeth Anweis. The 10-part drama is set in South America against the explosive backdrop of a secret war and revolves around a brilliant young scientist who goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border and follows her brother and her husband as they struggle to find her. Boal is also executive producing the project with Jason Horwitch (Berlin Station), Keshet Studios’ Peter Traugott & Alon Shtruzman (La Brea), Pablo Trapero (The Clan, White Elephant), Mark Sourian (Need for Speed), Omri Givon (When Heroes Fly), Eitan Mansuri & Jonathan Doweck (The Operative), Avi Nir (Homeland, Tyrant) and Karni Ziv (Dig). No release date has been announced yet for Echo 3.

Young’s other upcoming projects include Oliver Park’s horror thriller Abyzou, which has recently been picked by Decal for a release in U.S. theaters later this year and Erlingur Thoroddsen’s The Piper. He is also scoring the David Prior-directed episode The Autopsy of the Netflix anthology horror series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, which will premiere this fall.
