Christopher Lennertz has signed on to score the upcoming comedy Bad Moms. The film is written and directed by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore (21 & Over, writers of The Hangover) and stars Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Christina Applegate, Jada Pinkett Smith and Kathryn Hahn. The movie follows three moms who embark on a quest to liberate themselves from their mundane life, accidentally landing themselves on a collision course with their children’s school’s PTA president and her blindly devoted clique of “perfect” moms. Bill Block (Fury, Elysium, W.) and Suzanne Todd (Alice in Wonderland, Memento) are producing the project.

‘Whatcha Gonna Do (It’s Up to You)’ from ‘Agent Carter’ Released
Hollywood Records and Marvel Music have released the original song Whatcha Gonna Do (It’s Up to You) from the ABC drama Agent Carter. The song was written by the show’s composer Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Ride Along, Supernatural) and David Zippel for the Season 2 episode A Little Song and Dance, which premiered last month. The track is performed by actors Enver Gjokaj and Hayley Atwell. The song is now available to download on Amazon. A full soundtrack album for the series created by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely featuring Lennertz’s score from the first season was released in December.

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Agent Carter, Identity Thief, Horrible Bosses, Supernatural). Also included are the songs featured in the movie by artists including The Bangles, Mandisa, Helena Paparizou & more. The soundtrack will be released on March 25, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Christopher Lennertz is composing the score for the upcoming romantic comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. The movie is directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny McPhee, Everybody’s Fine, Waking Ned Devine) and stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Lainie Kazan, Michael Constantine, Andrea Martin, Ian Gomez, Alex Wolff, Elena Kampouris, John Stamos, Rita Wilson and Joey Faton. The sequel follows as Toula and Ian are struggling to find time for each other while managing their lives and a teenage daughter, while also having to deal with yet another Greeker wedding. Vardalos has also written the screenplay.

Opening in most theaters is the action comedy Ride Along 2 directed by Tim Story and starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter and Sherri Shepherd. The film’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Agent Carter, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief, Hop) who collaborate with such musicians as drummer Sheila E. and trumpeter Arturo Sandoval on the project. Soundtrack Album for Marvel’s ‘Agent Carter’ to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for Marvel Television’s ABC series Agent Carter. The album features selections from the original music from the show’s first season composed by Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Galavant, Supernatural, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief). Agent Carter is created by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and stars Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Enver Gjokaj and Chad Michael Murray. The drama is set in the 1940s and follows Peggy Carter as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad and must balance doing administrative work for the covert SSR and going on secret missions for Howard Stark.
Johann Johannsson, Trent Reznor, Jonny Greenwood, Tyler Bates, Christopher Lennertz & More Invited to Join Academy
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 322 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures to join the organization. Among the invited artists this year a number of film composers, including Johann Johannsson (Prisoners, Sicario) who received his first Academy Award nomination earlier this year for his music for The Theory of Everything, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross who received the Oscar in 2011 for their work on David Fincher’s The Social Network and recently reunited with the director on Gone Girl, Tyler Bates whose film scoring credits include last year’s hit film Guardians of the Galaxy, Jonny Greenwood whose film music work include Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood, The Master and Inherent Vice and Christopher Lennertz whose recent feature credits include Ride Along, Horrible Bosses 2 and The Wedding Ringer.
Christopher Lennertz to Score ‘Michelle Darnell’
Christopher Lennertz revealed in a recent interview with Skewed n’ Reviewed that he is set to score the upcoming comedy Michelle Darnell. The film is directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates and Timothy Simons. The movie follows a titan of industry, who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading and later emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart. McCarthy and Falcone have also written the screenplay with Steve Mallory. The film will be produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day production company, alongside Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy & Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, The Other Guys) for Gary Sanchez Productions.

Opening in around 3300 theaters is the family movie Paddington written and directed by Paul King and starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. The film’s original music is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as songs from the film by James Brown, Steppenwolf and Lionel Richie.
