Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series The Morning Show. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo, Twilight, True Grit, In Bruges). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 1 and will be available to stream/download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from Season 1 in 2019. The Morning Show is created by Jay Carson and stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman, Desean Terry, Tom Irwin, Janina Gavankar and Marcia Gay Harden.

Carter Burwell to Score Kevin Frakes’ ‘The Alchemist’
Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Twilight, In Bruges) is attached to score the upcoming drama The Alchemist. The film marks the directorial debut of producer Kevin Frakes (Hereditary, Laggies) and will star Sebastian de Souza, Tom Hollander, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Jordi Molla, Youssef Kerkour and Ashraf Barhom. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Paulo Coelho and tells the story of a young Andalusian shepherd boy named Santiago on an epic quest for life-changing treasure.
Carter Burwell’s Complete ‘Psycho III’ Score to Be Released
Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1986 horror sequel Psycho III directed by Anthony Perkins and starring Perkins himself (as Norman Bates), Diana Scarwid, Jeff Fahey and Roberta Maxwell. The album features the complete original score from the Universal Pictures production composed and arranged by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, Twilight, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, In Bruges), including over 60 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included is the content of the the 1986 original soundtrack album, which was released on vinyl by MCA Records. Carter Burwell to Score Joel Coen’s ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’
Carter Burwell is set to compose the original music for the upcoming film adaptation of William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth. The film marks Joel Coen’s first solo directorial effort and stars Denzel Washington in the title role, Frances McDormand as Lady Macbeth, as well as Brendan Gleeson, Corey Hawkins, Ralph Ineson, Moses Ingram and Harry Melling. The movie follows a Scottish lord who becomes convinced by a trio of witches that he is destined to become king of Scotland and goes to extreme and violent lengths to seize the crown. Coen also wrote the screenplay. Scott Rudin (The Social Network, No Country for Old Men, The Grand Budapest Hotel) is producing the A24 production.

Premiering tomorrow, May 25, is the National Geographic limited series Barkskins created by Elwood Reid and starring David Thewlis, Marcia Gay Harden, Aneurin Barnard, James Bloor, Christian Cooke, David Wilmot, Thomas M. Wright, Tallulah Haddon, Kaniehtiio Horn, Lily Sullivan and Zahn McClarnon. The show’s original music is composed by Colin Stetson (Hereditary, Color Out of Space, The First). Also premiering tomorrow is the History docu-series Grant directed by Malcolm Venville and executive produced by Ron Chernow, Jennifer Davisson and Leonardo DiCaprio. Jacob Shea (Planet Earth II, Seven Worlds One Planet, Blue Planet II) has composed the show’s original music, which is produced by Russell Emanuel for Bleeding Fingers Music. The 3-parter examines Grant’s life story using his perspective and experiences to explore a turbulent time in history: the Civil War and Reconstruction. Carter Burwell Scoring Netflix’s ‘Space Force’
Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, Twilight, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, True Grit) has recently scored the first season of the upcoming Netflix original series Space Force. The show is created by Steve Carell & Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) and stars Carell himself, alongside John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, Ben Schwartz, Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow and Don Lake. The comedy revolves around a decorated pilot with dreams of running the Air Force as he is thrown for a loop when he finds himself tapped to lead the newly formed sixth branch of the US Armed Forces: Space Force.

Opening in most theaters is the sports drama Ford v Ferrari directed by James Mangold and starring Matt Damon, Christian Bale, Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Tracy Letts, Remo Girone and Ray McKinnon. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, Scream, A Quiet Place) & Buck Sanders (The Hurt Locker, Warm Bodies).
