Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes is directed by Joe Berlinger and focuses on a man whose personality, good looks and social graces defied the serial-killer stereotype, allowing him to hide in plain sight as he committed the brutal sex-crime slayings of more than thirty women before being caught in 1978.

Premiering tonight is the third season of the Starz anthology series The Girlfriend Experience written and directed by Anja Marquardt (based on Steven Soderbergh’s feature of the same title) and starring Julia Goldani Telles. Matthew Pusti (A Good Woman Is Hard to Find, Whistleblower) has composed the original music for Season 3 and follows Shane Carruth and the Mondo Boys who scored the first two seasons. The third season, which is set amidst the London tech scene and follows a neuroscience major who begins to explore the transactional world of The Girlfriend Experience, only to find herself deep inside the uncanny valley with the relationships she creates, will air Sunday nights on Starz.
Premiering on Tuesday, May 4, is Lucasfilm’s Disney+ original series Star Wars: The Bad Batch created by Dave Filoni and starring Dee Bradley Baker, Ming-Na Wen, Stephen Stanton and Andrew Kishino. The show’s original music is composed by Kevin Kiner (Narcos: Mexico, Doom Patrol, CSI: Miami, Titans, City on a Hill, Making a Murderer) who previously scored all episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (and the feature of the same title) and Star Wars Rebels. Justin Melland Scoring ‘The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness’
Justin Melland (Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, The Innocence Files, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, Wrong Man) has recently scored the new Netflix docu-series The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness. The show is directed by Joshua Zeman (Murder Mountain, Cropsey) and centers on the Sons of Sam case that grew into a lifelong obsession for journalist Maury Terry, who became convinced that the murders were linked to a satanic cult. Paul Giamatti is narrating the 4-parter, which features archival news footage, conversations with the people closest to the investigation, and Terry’s own words and case files to tell a cautionary tale of a man who went down a rabbit hole and never came out.

Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the Portuguese/French/Brazilian drama Mosquito. The album features the film’s original music composed by Justin Melland (Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, Dark Net, The Force). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 20, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Mosquito is directed by João Nuno Pinto and stars João Nunes Monteiro, João Lagarto, Filipe Duarte, Sebastian Jehkul, Miguel Borges, António Nipita and Josefina Massango. The movie is set in Mozambique, 1917 and follows a teenager as he travels alone through this Portuguese colony, dizzy with malaria.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary The Force. The album features the film’s original music composed by Justin Melland (The Kill Team, Dark Net, Extremis). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 3, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Force is directed by Peter Nicks and follows the Oakland Police Department over the course of two years as a new chief tries to make his officers more accountable and more aware of racial inequities in the criminal justice system. The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where Nicks received the Directing Award, and was released in theaters this past September by Kino Lorber.
