Hollywood Records has released the original song We Are America from the Hulu original documentary Anthem. The track written by Ruby Amanfu, Charity Bowden, Kris Bowers (who also composed the score and produced the film), Dahi, Joy Harjo & Cecilia Peña-Govea is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Nathan Matthew David Scoring Peter Nicks’ ‘Stephen Curry: Underrated’
Nathan Matthew David (Deadly Class, Slice, The Last Word, Angie Tribeca, A Man Named Scott, Hypnotic, Surviving R. Kelly) has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated. The film is directed by Peter Nicks (Homeroom, The Force, The Waiting Room) and takes an intimate look at NBA superstar Stephen Curry’s improbable coming of age at tiny Davidson College. The movie features archival footage and on-camera interviews to reveal Curry’s rise from an undersized college player to a four-time NBA champion.
Mike Tuccillo Scoring Peter Nicks’ ‘Homeroom’
Mike Tuccillo (Shot in the Dark, Out of Omaha) is composing the original score and Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, Beasts of No Nation) serves as the executive music producer on the upcoming documentary Homeroom. The film is directed by Peter Nicks (The Waiting Room, The Force) and focuses on the lives of Oakland High School’s class of 2020 trying to make the most of their final year in high school amidst a procession of blows. Nicks is also producing the project with Sean Havey.
‘The Force’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary The Force. The album features the film’s original music composed by Justin Melland (The Kill Team, Dark Net, Extremis). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 3, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Force is directed by Peter Nicks and follows the Oakland Police Department over the course of two years as a new chief tries to make his officers more accountable and more aware of racial inequities in the criminal justice system. The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where Nicks received the Directing Award, and was released in theaters this past September by Kino Lorber.
