Justin Melland (Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, The Innocence Files, Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich, Wrong Man) has recently scored the new Netflix docu-series The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness. The show is directed by Joshua Zeman (Murder Mountain, Cropsey) and centers on the Sons of Sam case that grew into a lifelong obsession for journalist Maury Terry, who became convinced that the murders were linked to a satanic cult. Paul Giamatti is narrating the 4-parter, which features archival news footage, conversations with the people closest to the investigation, and Terry’s own words and case files to tell a cautionary tale of a man who went down a rabbit hole and never came out. Zeman is also executive producing the project with Sara Enright, Zara Duffy (And We Go Green), Dave Sirulnick (Mars, Grant), Jon Kamen (Mars, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel), Josh Braun & Dan Braun (Wild Wild Country). The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness will premiere on exclusively on May 5, 2021 Netflix.
