Premiering tonight on Fox is the docu-series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Ann Druyan, Mitchell Cannold & Brannon Braga and hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, The Avengers) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring selections from the composer’s was released digitally earlier this week. Additional albums are expected to be announced soon. Also premiering tonight is the new ABC drama Resurrection created by by Aaron Zelman and starring Omar Epps, Matt Craven, Devin Kelley, Frances Fisher, Kurtwood Smith, Sam Hazeldine, Samaire Armstrong, Mark Hildreth and Landon Gimenez. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (Arrow, The Mentalist, Everwood, Life As We Know It). Opening in most theaters is the docudrama Captain Phillips directed by Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, United 93) and starring Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, Barkhad Abdi, Barkhad Abdirahman, Faysal Ahmed, Mahat M. Ali, Michael Chernus, Corey Johnson and Max Martini. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). Also opening wide is the action sequel Machete Kills written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir and Mel Gibson. The film’s music is composed by Rodriguez himself and Carl Thiel (Grindhouse: Planet Terror, Shorts). Morada Music will release the official soundtrack album for the action sequel Machete Kills. The album features the film’s original score composed by Carl Thiel (Shorts, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World 4D, Grindhouse: Planet Terror) and director Robert Rodriguez. Also included is an original end title track by Tito & Tarantula (From Dusk Till Dawn) and two tracks by Chingon who scored the first Machete film. The soundtrack will be released physically and digitally on October 8, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on 
Carl Thiel has composed the score for the upcoming action sequel Machete Kills. The film is written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and stars Danny Trejo in the title role of ex-Federale agent Machete who is recruited by the President of the United States to take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet. Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir and Mel Gibson are co-starring in the Troublemaker Studios production. Kyle Ward has written the screenplay based on a story by Robert & Marcel Rodriguez. Thiel previously scored Rodriguez’s Shorts and Spy Kids: All the Time in the World 4D and the Planet Terror segment from Grindhouse.
