Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the docudrama Captain Phillips directed by Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, United 93) and starring Tom Hanks, Catherine Keener, Barkhad Abdi, Barkhad Abdirahman, Faysal Ahmed, Mahat M. Ali, Michael Chernus, Corey Johnson and Max Martini. The film’s music is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album for the film featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the action sequel Machete Kills written and directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir and Mel Gibson. The film’s music is composed by Rodriguez himself and Carl Thiel (Grindhouse: Planet Terror, Shorts). Morada Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original end title track by Tito & Tarantula (From Dusk Till Dawn) and two tracks by Chingon. Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the dramatic thriller Captain Phillips. The album features the film’s original score composed by Henry Jackman (Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class). The soundtrack will be released on October 15, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on
