Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1999 sci-fi action movie G-Saviour directed by Graeme Campbell and starring Brennan Elliott, Enuka Okuma, David Lovgren and Catharina Conti. The album features the original music from the live-action adaptation of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime franchise composed by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Hocus Pocus 2, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2) and Louis Febre (Smallville, Swimfan, Doctor Who, The Cape). Sean Callery Scoring ‘Backstrom’ Pilot
Sean Callery has scored the pilot for the CBS drama Backstrom. The show based on the Swedish book series by criminologist Leif G.W. Persson is created by Hart Hanson and follows on an overweight, offensive, irascible detective as he tries, and fails, to change his self-destructive behavior. The pilot stars Rainn Wilson, Dennis Haysbert, Mamie Gummer, Kristoffer Polaha, Page Kennedy, Beatrice Rosen, Thomas Dekker and Camryn Manheim. Hanson is executive producing the project with Persson and Niclas Salomonsson. Callery has previously collaborated with Hanson on the Fox hit drama Bones and its spinoff The Finder.
New Limited ‘Smallville’ Soundtrack Edition Released
La-La Land Records has released a new limited soundtrack album for the superhero TV series Smallville starring Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk. The album features selections from the show’s score from the first six seasons composed by Mark Snow (The X-Files) and from the final four seasons composed by Louis Febre (Swimfan). The 2-CD set includes the 2010 soundtrack download-only release, as well as a second disc featuring over 70 minutes of previously unreleased music from the show. The most successful new show of the season on the network is the fantasy drama Once Upon a Time created by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (Lost) and starring Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Jamie Dornan and Jared Gilmore. Louis Febre to Score ABC’s ‘Charlie’s Angels’
Louis Febre has been hired to score ABC’s Miami-set TV reboot of Charlie’s Angels. The new Angels are played by Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Rachael Taylor (Grey’s Anatomy) and Annie Ilonzeh (Melrose Place). Ramon Rodriguez is co-starring as Bosley. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the pilot and are executive producing. Marcos Siega (The Vampire Diaries) directed the pilot and Drew Barrymore, Leonard Goldberg and Nancy Jovoven, who were all involved in the two Charlie’s Angels feature adaptations directed by McG, are producing the project. Febre previously scored the last four seasons of the CW hit show Smallville, which was created by Charlie’s Angels showrunners Millar and Gough.
‘Smallville’ Score Album released
WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack for the CW show Smallville. The album includes selections from the show’s original score by Mark Snow and Louis Febre. Snow was the composer on the project during its first six seasons, while Febre scored the last four seasons.
