Premiering tonight is the National Geographic documentary Apollo: Missions to the Moon directed by Tom Jennings about the United States’ remarkable journey to land on the Moon before 1970. The film’s original music is composed James Everingham for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. Also premiering tonight is the CNN docu-series The Movies executive produced by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman & Mark Herzog and featuring interviews with Steven Spielberg, Julia Roberts, Ron Howard, Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro, among others. Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash, Riverdale, Into the West, Life As We Know It) & Nathaniel Blume (The Seventies, The Eighties, Deception) have composed the show’s original music. Blake Neely & Sherri Chung are set to compose the music for the upcoming CW drama Batwoman. The show is developed by Caroline Dries & Greg Berlanti based on the DC Comics characters and stars Ruby Rose in the title role, alongside Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Nicole Kang, Rachel Skarsten, Dougray Scott and Elizabeth Anweis. The series centers on Kate Kane as she soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman.

Blake Neely to Score Aaron Schneider’s ‘Greyhound’

Blake Neely has been hired to score the upcoming World War II drama Greyhound. The film is directed by Aaron Schneider (Get Low) and stars Tom Hanks, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham and Rob Morgan. The movie is based on C.S. Forester’s novel The Good Shepherd and tells the story of Capt. Ernest Krause who – in the early days of World War II – crosses the treacherous North Atlantic while being hotly pursued by wolf packs of Nazi submarines. Hanks also wrote the screenplay is producing the project through his Playtone production company, alongside Gary Goetzman (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Mamma Mia!).

Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the animated feature UglyDolls directed by Kelly Asbury and starring Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Blake Shelton, Janelle Monae, Wanda Sykes, Emma Roberts, Gabriel Iglesias, Wang Leehom and Pitbull. The film’s original score is composed by Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Sausage Party) who also co-wrote most of the film’s original songs with Glenn Slater (Tangled, Galavant). Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs last week. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the romantic comedy Long Shot directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron, Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, Ravi Patel, Bob Odenkirk and Alexander Skarsgård. Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma) & Miles Hankins (The Night Before, Len and Company) have composed the film’s original score. Premiering tonight is the new CBS limited series The Red Line created by Caitlin Parrish & Erica Weiss and starring Noah Wyle, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Noel Fisher, Howard Charles, Aliyah Royale, Michael Patrick Thornton, Vinny Chhibber and Elizabeth Laidlaw. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (The Flash, Arrow, The Pacific, Life As We Know It) & Sherri Chung (Riverdale, Blindspot). Premiering in the U.S. on Tuesday, April 30, is the anime series Ingress: The Animation based on the eponymous location-enabled game and starring Yoshiki Nakajima, Reina Ueda and Shigeo Kiyama. Jacob Yoffee (Finding Carter, Andi Mack, Best Shot) has composed the music for the global release of the show. The series, which is set after scientists discover a mysterious substance that can influence human minds, and follows two factions wage an all-out battle to control its awesome power, will be available to stream stateside and in most others markets exclusively on Netflix.

Blake Neely & Sherri Chung are scoring the upcoming CBS limited series The Red Line. The show is created by Caitlin Parrish & Erica Weiss and stars Noah Wyle, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Noel Fisher, Howard Charles, Aliyah Royale, Michael Patrick Thornton, Vinny Chhibber and Elizabeth Laidlaw. The 8-part drama follows three very different Chicago families as they journey toward hope and healing after a tragedy causes them all to consider how race and racial biases affect their lives. Ava DuVernay (Selma, A Wrinkle in Time) is executive producing the Warner Bros. Television & CBS Television Studios production with Greg Berlanti & Sarah Schechter, Parrish, Sunil Nayar (Revenge) and Kevin Hooks (Prison Break).

Blake Neely Scoring Ryan White’s ‘Ask Dr. Ruth’

Composer Blake Neely is reteaming with director Ryan White on the upcoming documentary Ask Dr. Ruth. The film chronicles the incredible life of Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a Holocaust survivor who became America’s most famous sex therapist, as she revisits her painful past and her career at the forefront of the sexual revolution. White is also producing the project with Rafael Marmor, Jessica Hargrave and Christopher Leggett (Becoming Bond). Neely and White have previously collaborated on 2014’s The Case Against 8 and last year’s Netflix docu-series The Keepers.

‘Supergirl’ Season 3 Soundtrack Details

La-La Land Records has announced the details of the third soundtrack album for the CW drama Supergirl. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash, Riverdale, The Pacific, Everwood) and Daniel James Chan (Legends of Tomorrow). The soundtrack is now available to order on Amazon and in the label’s online store. The label and WaterTower Music have previously released two soundtrack albums for Season 1 and Season 2 of the series. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the CW superhero drama DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash, Riverdale, The Pacific, Everwood) and Daniel James Chan (Supergirl). The soundtrack is now available for pre-order on the label’s official website and on Amazon. Two soundtrack albums for the series’ first two season have previously been released by La-La Land Records and WaterTower Music.
