Premiering tomorrow, May 10, is the HBO documentary The Crime of the Century directed by Alex Gibney and executive produced by Richard Perello, Todd Hoffman & Aaron Fishman about the origins, extent, and fallout of the opioid crisis in the United States. The original music for the 2-parter is composed by Peter Nashel (I, Tonya, Marco Polo, The Night Listener, Totally Under Control, Bee Season, Book Club). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the documentary, which will air tomorrow on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

Premiering on Wednesday, May 12, is the Netflix original film Oxygen directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Mélanie Laurent, Mathieu Amalric and Malik Zidi. Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Gretel & Hansel, Revenge, Troy: Fall of a City, Amityville: The Awakening, Planetarium) has composed the movie’s original music. ‘Caught by a Wave’ (‘Sulla Stessa Onda’) Soundtrack Album Released

Decca Classics has released a soundtrack album for the Italian Netflix original film Caught by a Wave (Sulla Stessa Onda). The album features the movie’s original music composed by Yakamoto Kotzuga (Baby, Zero). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (or any other digital music outlets), where you can also check out audio samples. Caught by a Wave is co-written and directed by Massimiliano Camaiti and stars Elvira Camarrone, Christian Roberto, Donatella Finocchiaro, Corrado Invernizzi, Vincenzo Amato, Manuela Ventura, Rosalba Battaglia and Daniele Pilli. The romantic drama revolves around a teenage couple who – after falling in love at a sailing summer camp in Sicily – is confronted with a harsh truth that prompts a pivotal decision. Over the past week, Joby Talbot has been recording his score for the upcoming animated sequel Sing 2. The film is written and directed by Garth Jennings and features the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, Nick Kroll, Tori Kelly, Bobby Cannavale, Pharrell Williams, Halsey, Letitia Wright, Eric Andre, Chelsea Peretti and Bono. The movie follows Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal performers as they prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet and have to persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star to join them. Opening in theaters nationwide today is the action thriller Wrath of Man co-written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Jason Statham, Jeffrey Donovan, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, Eddie Marsan, Deobia Oparei and Scott Eastwood. The film’s original music is composed by Chris Benstead (The Gentlemen). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the comedy Here Today directed by Billy Crystal and starring Crystal himself, Tiffany Haddish, Anna Deavere Smith, Louisa Krause, Penn Badgley, Nyambi Nyambi and Laura Benanti. Charlie Rosen (The Presidents Show) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘Duty Free’ Soundtrack Released

Groomsy Music has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Duty Free. The album features the film’s original music composed by Crystal Grooms Mangano (No Escape, Asperger’s Are Us, Forced Move). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (or any other major digital music outlets), where you can also check out audio samples. Duty Free is produced and directed by Sian-Pierre Regis about his immigrant mother, Rebecca Danigelis who – at the age of 75 – was fired from her lifelong job as a hotel housekeeper. Soundtrack Album for NBC’s ‘Debris’ to Be Released

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC drama Debris. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Raney Shockne (Queen of the South, Anger Management, Kevin Can Wait, The To Do List,  The Wedding Year). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, May 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Debris is created by J.H. Wyman and stars Jonathan Tucker, Riann Steele, Norbert Leo Butz and Scroobius Pip. The series produced by Universal Television and Legendary Television revolves around a secretive international agency that is tasked with the mystery of a wreckage that starts falling from the sky. ‘The Water Man’ Soundtrack Released

Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama The Water Man. The album features the film’s original score composed by Peter Baert (Facades, Breathless). Also included are two songs written and performed by Jessica Oyelowo, including the original end titles track My Son. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. ‘The Water Man marks the feature directorial debut of David Oyelowo who also stars in the film, alongside Rosario Dawson, Lonnie Chavis, Amiah Miller, Alfred Molina and Maria Bello. The movie tells the story of a sensitive young boy who embarks on a mission to help his gravely ill mother by locating the mythic Water Man, who may carry the secret to everlasting life. The track, which is performed by Keb’ Mo’ and co-written by the Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter and series producer Chuck Lorre, is now available on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the full theme below. B Positive is created by Marco Pennette and stars Thomas Middleditch, Annaleigh Ashford, Kether Donohue, Sara Rue, Izzy G and Terrence Terrell. The series revolves around a therapist and newly divorced dad who is faced with finding a kidney donor when he runs into a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past who volunteers her own. 52Hz has released the first-ever soundtrack album for the 2013 indie drama Blue Caprice directed by Alexandre Moors and starring Isaiah Washington, Tequan Richmond, Joey Lauren Adams, Tim Blake Nelson and Leo Fitzpatrick. The album features the film’s original music composed by Colin Stetson (Hereditary, Color Out of Space, The First, Barksins) and Sarah Neufeld (Lavender).
