The show is directed by Rand Getlin & Luke Korver (Prodigy) and centers on the USMNT in the leadup to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America this June. The 5-parter was over the course of four years and follows Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams, Tim Weah, Weston McKennie, and an array of U.S. players on their personal and collective journeys toward their sport’s biggest stage. Getlin is also executive producing the Park Studios production with Janina Pelayo, alongside HBO’s Nancy Abraham, Lisa Heller and Bentley Weiner. U.S. Against the World: Four Years with the Men’s National Soccer Team will premiere on May 12 on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
