Hollywood Records has announced the official soundtrack album Steven Spielberg’s new film adaptation of West Side Story. The album features the songs from the movie originally written for the stage musical by Leonard Bernstein and with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The record is produced by David Newman who arranged and adapted Bernstein’s original score for the film, Jeanine Tesori who supervised the cast on vocals and music supervisor Matt Sullivan who serves as executive music producer. Gustavo Dudamel conducted the New York Philharmonic during the first recording sessions in 2019, with additional recording by the Los Angeles Philharmonic done the following year. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 3 (in two version, including a Dolby Atmos Music edition) and physically next Friday, December 10. The album features the film’s original score composed by Tena Clark and Tim Heintz (Deadly Prey, The Bounty Hunter). Also included is Marilyn McCoo’s & Billy Davis Jr.’s rendition of Silent Night. Three new movies have opened in theaters nationwide this past Wednesday:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Encanto directed by Byron Howard & Jared Bush and starring Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero,Wilmer Valderrama, Adassa, Diane Guerrero, Jessica Darrow, Angie Cepeda, Rhenzy Feliz, Mauro Castillo and Carolina Gaitan. The film’s original score is composed by Germaine Franco (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Dope, Tag, Little) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana, Hamilton, In the Heights) has written the movie’s original songs. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and score last Friday and a CD version will be coming out next month. Also opening wide is the biographical crime drama House of Gucci directed by Ridley Scott and starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Reeve Carney, Jack Huston, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Al Pacino. Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Mulan, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire, The Town) has composed the film’s original score. Interscope Records & Decca Records are set to release a soundtrack album according to the movie’s end credits, but no announcement has been made yet. Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Super Crooks’ to Be Released

Maisie Music Publishing will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix anime series Super Crooks. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by DJ/record producer Towa Tai (Big Man Japan). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 27 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD and vinyl edition will be released by Columbia Records Japan on December 10 and is available to order as an import on Amazon. Super Crooks is written by Dai Sato based on the graphic novel of the same name by Mark Millar and artist Leinil Yu, directed by Motonobu Hori and produced by Japanese anime studio bones.
