Gaga Corporation announced today that Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, The Revenant, Little Buddha, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, Snake Eyes) is set to score the upcoming Japanese drama Monster (Kaibutsu). The film is directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda (Shoplifters, The Truth, Broker) and stars Sakura Ando, Nagayama Eita, Mitsuki Takahata, Akihiro Kakuta, Yuko Tanaka, Shido Nakamura, Soya Kurokawa and Hinata Hiiragi. Modern Piano Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the Israeli romantic drama America. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dominique Charpentier (The Cakemaker, On Our Own Island). America is written and directed by Ofir Raul Graizer and stars Michael Moshonov, Oshrat Ingedashet, Evelyn Shafir, Ofri Biterman, Ruba Blal-Asfour, Moni Moshonov and Irit Sheleg. Deadline is reporting that Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Jurassic World, Doctor Strange, Ratatouille, The Batman, The Incredibles) will make his feature directorial debut on a reboot of the 1954 monster movie Them! for Warner Bros. Pictures. He is also planning to score the remake of the Gordon Douglas-directed and Bronislau Kaper-scored film, which centers on the discovery of a huge nest of irradiated ants are in the New Mexico desert that becomes a national threat when two young queen ants and their consorts escape to set-up new nests.
