This past week, John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2The Emperor’s New GrooveHocus Pocus) has been recording his score for the upcoming western epic Horizon: An American Saga. The movie is the first installment of a planned 4-part western (the second of which has also already started shooting), which chronicles a 15-year span of pre- and post-Civil War expansion and settlement of the American West. Costner also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Baird and is producing the New Line Cinema production for his Territory Pictures company. Debney has previously co-scored the Costner-produced 2012 mini-series Hatfields & McCoys. Horizon: An American Saga will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
