Opening in select U.S. theaters is the British comedy drama Scrapper written and directed by Charlotte Regan and starring Lola Campbell, Harris Dickinson and Alin Uzun. Patrick Jonsson (The Boogeyman, The White Helmets, Evelyn, WildcatBlack Earth RisingVirunga, On Her Shoulders) has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which follows a young girl who lives alone in her London flat after the death of her mother, when her estranged father arrives and forces her to confront reality, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed stateside by Kino Lorber.

Opening in Los Angeles today after coming out in New York earlier this month is the Japanese/French drama Love Life written and directed by Koji Fukada and starring Hirona Yamazaki, Misuzu Kanno and Tomorowo Taguchi. The film’s original music is composed by Olivier Goinard. Love Theme Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last September when the movie opened overseas. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the survival thriller The Dive co-written and directed by Maximilian Erlenwein and starring Louisa Krause and Sophie Lowe. Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western Front, Lion, Adrift, Patrick Melrose, Hotel Mumbai) & Raffael Seyfried (Home) have composed the film’s original music. The movie, which follow two sisters whose deep-sea diving trip becomes a fight for survival for when a catastrophic landslide sends rocks tumbling into the ocean, is being released by RLJE Films.

Also opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British comedy drama Bank of Dave directed by Chris Foggin and starring Joel Fry, Phoebe Dynevor, Rory Kinnear, Jo Hartley, Naomi Battrick, Harry Michell, Paul Kaye and Cathy Tyson. The film’s original music is composed by Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double, Triangle, Black Death, Chasing LibertyTommy’s Honour, Wild Bill). No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which tells the story of how a self-made millionaire and a working class Burnley man fought to set up a community Bank, premiered in the UK this past January on Netflix and is being distributed stateside by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
