Back Lot Music will release a new soundtrack album for the Syfy original series Eureka. A Very Eureka Christmas features the score for the two Christmas episodes O Little Town from 2010 and Do You See What I See from 2011 composed by Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead). The soundtrack will be released on November 20, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. La-La Land Records has previously released a soundtrack album featuring highlights from the composer’s score for the series (click here to order the release). Eureka created by Jaime Paglia, Bruce Miller and Todd Sharp and starring Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Joe Morton, Erica Cerra, Neil Grayston and Niall Matter aired on Syfy from 2006 until July 2012. Big Machine Records will release a soundtrack album for the ABC drama Nashville. The album features the songs from the show performed by cast members Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio, including the hit single Telescope performed by Panettiere. T Bone Burnett serves as the show’s executive music producer. The soundtrack will be released on December 11, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out here. Nashville created by Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise) follows a 40-year-old fading country superstar whose label requires her to team up with a teen sensation or else face the loss of her own tour and the label’s promotion of her latest record. Daniel Licht to Score NBC’s ‘Deception’

Daniel Licht has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama Deception. The show is created by Liz Heldens (Mercy, Friday Night Lights) and stars Meagan Good, Victor Garber, Katherine LaNasa, Tate Donovan, Marin Hinkle, Laz Alonso, Ella Rae Peck and Wes Brown. The series, which was previously entitled Infamous, follows a female detective who returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled family she grew up in to solve the murder of a notorious heiress who was once her closest friend. Heldens is executive producing the drama with Gail Berman (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel), Lloyd Braun (Alphas), Gene Stein (Less Than Perfect) and Peter Horton (Grey’s Anatomy). ‘Django Unchained’ Soundtrack Announced

Universal Music Group will release the soundtrack album for Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated film Django Unchained. The album will be released on December 18, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. No word yet on the tracks featured on the release, but check back on this site for the details to be revealed within the next few weeks. Mary Ramos who has worked on all of Tarantino’s features serves as the movie’s music supervisor. Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx as a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter, played by Christoph Waltz. Unused ‘Chinatown’ Score Released

Perseverance Records has announced a release of the unused score for Roman Polanski’s 1974 classic movie Chinatown starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. The music is composed by Phillip Lambro. The music was ultimately rejected by Paramount Pictures and replaced by a score by Jerry Goldsmith who ended up receiving one of the film’s eleven Academy Award nominations. In addition to the unused score, the album also features the two concert pieces Structures for String Orchestra and Music for Wind, Brass and Percussion. Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the final part in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 directed by Bill Condon and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The film’s music is composed by Carter Burwell. Summit Entertainment, Chop Shop Records and Atlantic Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Green Day and Feist. Opening in limited release is the comedy drama Silver Linings Playbook directed by David O. Russell and starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Jacki Weaver and Chris Tucker. Danny Elfman has composed the film’s score. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack featuring the songs featured in the film by Stevie Wonder, Alabama Shakes, alt-K, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Rare Earth and Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash, as well as two tracks by Elfman. Stephen Trask Scoring Paul Weitz’s ‘Admission’

Stephen Trask is reteaming with director Paul Weitz on the upcoming comedy Admission. The film starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd follows an unmarried college admissions counselor who falls for a former classmate. Michael Sheen, Lily Tomlin, Wallace Shawn, Gloria Reuben and Nat Wolff are co-starring in the Focus Features production. Karen Croner (One True Thing) has written the screenplay and Weitz is producing the project with Kerry Kohansky-Roberts (Nick and Norah’s Ultimate Playlist) and Andrew Miano (A Single Man). Republic Records to Release ‘Les Miserables’ Soundtrack

Republic Records will release the official soundtrack album for Tom Hooper’s new film adaptation of Les Miserables. The album features the film’s songs composed by Claude-Michel Schonberg and with lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, as well as the new original song Suddenly composed by Schonberg and featuring lyrics by Alain Boublil. Alexandre Desplat to Reunite with Wes Anderson on ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’

Alexandre Desplat revealed in a recent interview with RedCarpetNewsTV at the London premiere of Dreamworks’s Animation’s Rise of the Guardians that he will be reuniting with director Wes Anderson on his next film The Grand Budapest Hotel. Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Saoirse Ronan are attached to star in the film produced by Anderson, Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network), Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson (Moonrise Kingdom). The movie is set to start shooting in January of next year. La-La Land Records will release a score album for the upcoming thriller Jack Reacher. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joe Kraemer who has previously worked with director Christopher McQuarrie on The Way of the Gun. Jack Reacher stars Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Werner Herzog, David Oyelowo and Robert Duvall. The film is based on the novel One Shot written by Lee Child follows the military policeman-turned-drifter Jack Reacher, who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five random people in a shooting.
