Atli Örvarsson The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Vantage Point, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Edge of Seventeen, Rams, Defending Jacob, The Eagle) has composed the original score for the new Netflix original film Ladies First. The movie is directed by Thea Sharrock (Me Before You, Wicked Little Letters) and stars Sacha Baron Cohen, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Emily Mortimer, Charles Dance, Fiona Shaw, Weruche Opia, Tom Davis, Kathryn Hunter and Kadiff Kirwan. The comedy follows an arrogant but charismatic ladies’ man who finds his life of money, power and casual flings upended when he wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women. Natalie Krinsky (The Broken Hearts Gallery) and Cinco Paul (Despicable Me, Schmigadoon!) & Katie Silberman (Booksmart, Don’t Worry Darling) wrote the screenplay. Liza Chasin (The Lost City, Stillwater), Eleonore Dailly & Edouard de Lachomette (I Love America, Dangerous Liaisons) are producing the project. Ladies First will premiere this coming Friday, May 22 exclusively on Netflix.
Örvarsson also continues to score Apple TV’s Silo, which will return for its third season on July 3 and has already been renewed for a fourth season, as well as NBC’s Chicago and CBS’ FBI franchises.
