Carl Thiel is composing the score for From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series. The show based on Robert Rodriguez’s 1996 cult film of the same title starring George Clooney & Quentin Tarantino stars D.J. Cotrona, Zane Holtz, Jesse Garcia, Don Johnson, Robert Patrick, Madison Davenport, Brandon Soo Hoo, Jake Busey and Wilmer Valderrama. The 10-episode series follows a bank robber, Seth Gecko and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richard “Richie” Gecko, who are wanted by the FBI and two Texas Rangers after a bank heist left several people dead. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller The Bag Man. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tony Morales (Hatfields & McCoys, Enemies Closer) & Edward Rogers (Warehouse 13, NYPD Blue). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. The Bag Man is directed by David Grovic and stars John Cusack, Robert De Niro, Rebecca Da Costa and Crispin Glover. This evening, the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards were handed out at the Mack Sennett Studios in Hollywood. Susan Jacobs received the honor in the Best Music Supervision in Motion Picture – Motion Picture Over 35M category for her work as music supervisor on David O. Russell’s American Hustle. In the Motion Picture Over 35M category, T Bone Burnett received the award for his music supervision on the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the animated sequel Rio 2. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Trilogy, Shrek, Chicken Run) who collaborated with Brazilian singer/songwriter and guitarist Milton Nascimento, the instrumental group UAKTI and the body percussion group Barbatuques on the project. The Newton Brothers have been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller The Prince. The film is directed by Brian A Miller (House of the Rising Sun, Officer Down) and stars Bruce Willis, John Cusack, Jason Patric, Rain, Curtis “5o Cent” Jackson and Jonathan Schoech. The movie follows a man who confronts a retired Las Vegas mob enforcer forced to return to the city when his daughter goes missing. Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore (Red Dawn, Special) have written the screenplay. The album features the film’s original music composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean, Rescue Dawn, Constantine, The Time Machine) who recorded the score with the London Metropolitan Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios and Air Studios. Jeffrey Katzenberg announced today in a call to investors that Rihanna will be performing new original songs for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Home. She will also be creating a concept album based on the movie. The singer and actress also is also among the voice talent of the film directed by Tim Johnson (Antz, Over the Hedge). The animated feature’s voice cast also includes Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Jim Parsons. The movie is based on the book The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex and centers on a friendly alien race that invades Earth and begins to efficiently reorganize the planet. Expanded ‘The Matrix Revolutions’ Soundtrack Released

La-La Land Records has released a remastered and expanded re-issue of the score for the Wachowski’s 2003 Warner Bros. Pictures sci-fi action film The Matrix Revolutions starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Carrie-Anne Moss. The album features over two hours of the film’s original music composed and conducted by Don Davis (Jurassic Park 3, Bound), including cues that were not used in the final film, as well as bonus alternate cues. The 2CD-set is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the La-La Land’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips and check out the full album details.
