Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French drama Notre-Dame on Fire (Notre-Dame brûle. The album features the film’s original music composed by Simon Franglen (The Magnificent Seven, Pandora: The World of Avatar, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, Peppermint, The Curse of Turandot) The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. A CD version is also being released overseas and will be available to order here within the next few days. Notre-Dame on Fire is directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and stars Samuel Labarthe, Mikael Chirinian, Jean-Paul Bordes,Jérémie Laheurte, Chloé Jouannet and Pierre Lottin. The movie chronicles events that took place on April 15, 2019, when the cathedral suffered the biggest blaze in its history and retraces how heroic men and women put their lives on the line to accomplish an awe-inspiring rescue.

Pathé Films has released released new soundtrack albums for two classic French films featuring music by Philippe Sarde (The Tenant, Barocco, Quest for Fire, Lord of the Flies, Ghost Story, Pirates, Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud). Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the composer’s Academy Award-nominated score for Roman Polanski’s 1979 drama Tess based on Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles and starring Nastassja Kinski, Peter Firth, Leigh Lawson, John Collin, Martin, Carolyn Pickles and Richard Pearson, as well his music for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s 1988 adventure drama The Bear (L’ours) based on James Oliver Curwood’s novel The Grizzly King and starring Bart the Bear, Youk the Bear, Tcheky, Karyo, Jack Wallace and Andre Lacombe. Simon Franglen Scoring Jean-Jacques Annaud’s ‘The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair’
Simon Franglen is the composer of the upcoming mini-series The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. The show is directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud (The Name of the Rose, The Bear, Seven Years in Tibet) and stars Patrick Dempsey, Ben Schnetzer, Damon Wayans Jr., Virginia Madsen, Colm Feore and Kristine Froseth. The 10-parter is based on the novel of the same name by Joël Dicker and tells the story of a literary icon who suddenly finds himself indicted in the cold-case murder of a girl who has been missing for many years.
Expanded ‘The Lover’ Score to Be Released
Music Box Records has announced a 25th anniversary soundtrack edition for the 1992 drama The Lover (L’amant) directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud (The Name of the Rose, Enemy at the Gates, Seven Years in Tibet) and starring Jane March and Tony Leung. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the movie composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain), including 20 minutes of previously unreleased music. ‘Wolf Totem’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s epic adventure drama Wolf Totem. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Aliens) who previously collaborated with the director on such films as The Name of the Rose, Enemy at the Gates and Black Gold. The soundtrack will be released in France on February 23, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Wolf Totem is based on the autobiographical novel by Jiang Rong and stars Chinese actors Feng Shaofeng and Dou Xiao . The movie follows a student who is sent from Beijing in China to the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia to teach shepherds and learns about the bond that they share with the wolves.

James Horner Scoring Jean-Jacques Annaud’s ‘Wolf Totem’
James Horner is currently scoring the upcoming adventure drama Wolf Totem. The project marks the fourth collaboration between the composer and director Jean-Jacques Annaud. They have previously worked together on the features The Name of the Rose, Enemy at the Gates and Black Gold. Wolf Totem starring Chinese actors Feng Shaofeng and Dou Xiao is based on the autobiographical novel by Jiang Rong and tells the story of a student who is sent from Beijing in China to the Chinese region of Inner Mongolia to teach shepherds and learns about the bond that they share with the wolves. Annaud has written the screenplay with John Collee (Happy Feet, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World). Bill Kong (Crouching Dragon, Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers) and Xavier Castano are producing the Chinese/French co-production.
‘Black Gold’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has revealed the details of the soundtrack album for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s epic drama Black Gold. The album includes the original music from the film composed by James Horner who collaborated with the director before on The Name of the Rose and Enemy at the Gates. The album will be released on February 14, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Black Gold starring Antonio Banderas, Mark Strong, Tahar Rahim, Freida Pinto and Liya Kebede tells the story of the rivalry between two Emirs in Arabia in the 1930’s just as oil is being discovered. The film opened in France last November and is being released in other European markets over the next couple of weeks. No domestic distribution deal and release date have been announced yet.
Varese Sarabande to Release James Horner’s ‘Black Gold’ Score
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the epic drama Black Gold. The album features the original score from the movie by James Horner and marks the composer’s first new release since 2010’s The Karate Kid. The soundtrack will be released on February 7, 2012 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for the full album details in a few weeks. As previously reported, the music was recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios and Horner worked with Quatari singer Fahad Al Kubaisi on the picture’s opening track. Black Gold is directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and stars Antonio Banderas, Mark Strong, Tahar Rahim, Freida Pinto and Liya Kebede. The movie premiered at the Doha Film Festival in October and has already been released in a couple of countries, including France in the last couple of weeks. The soundtrack release coincides with the release of the film in the UK and Germany among other European countries.
