Ramin Djawadi has signed on to score the upcoming fantasy epic The Great Wall. The film marks the English language debut of director Zhang Yimou (House of Flying Daggers, Hero) and stars Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Andy Lau, Zhang Hanyu and Eddie Peng. The movie tells the story of an elite force making a last stand for humanity on the world’s most iconic structure. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1982 animated feature The Secret of NIMH directed by Don Bluth and featuring the voices of Elizabeth Hartman, Dom DeLuise, Derek Jacobi, Hermione Baddeley, Peter Strauss and John Carradine. The album features the film’s expanded original score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Patton, Chinatown) who recorded his music with the National Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ambrosian Singers, including previously unreleased music and three demo recordings feat. Universal Music will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black. The album features a selections of songs from the show’s second and third season by artists including 50 Cent, Ike & Tina Turner, Foreigner, The Dead Milkmen, Atmosphere, Eliza Noxon, Sharon Clark, Martha Wainwright, Deep Blue Something & more. Disney announced at the studios’ D23 expo event that Shakira is recording an original song for the Disney Animation Studios’ feature Zootopia. The song is entitled Try Everthing and will be featured in the movie directed by Byron Howard (Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-it Ralph). Shakira will also be among the film’s voice cast, which also includes Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin.
